Alberto Gonzales, defendant?
from ThinkProgress:

Lawsuit filed against Gonzales, DOJ officials.»

Yesterday, six attorneys “rejected from civil service positions at the Justice Department filed a lawsuit” against “former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and three other top officials for allegedly violating their rights by taking politics into consideration” in the hiring process for the Honors and Summer Law Intern Programs. The complaint states that the Gonzales’s Justice Department oversaw the “gross deprivation of hundreds of individuals’ constitutional rights” in “an extraordinary, and uniquely successful, conspiracy to achieve political results.”

2. This is now a class action, with named defendants in addition to DoJ
and with additional plaintiffs.

Actually the "extraordinary, and uniquely successful, conspiracy to achieve political results" has backfired in many ways and history may record it as one of the lamest and most politically damaging conspiracies in American political history.

Something needs to be done about the law schools that produce such legalistic clowns!

3. The Bankrupting Has Begun
:bounce:

Remember...this is the first suit since Judge Bates removed the "cannot testify" card from this regime's deck...and there's the DOJ's own report (with more to come) that all but admits what the suit is alleging. While these goons may be able to hide from weak-kneed politicians, they're not going to be able to fend off six or more attorneys with a solid case and lots of discovery they can and should do.

This suit should proceede and then the litigants will face the options of attempting to settle out for a huge lump sum or take their chances in a long and expensive trial. Mr. Sampson & Ms. Goodling's worst nightmares may have just begun.
