2. I cannot believe how fast this guy is.
And he doesn't even look like he's trying.

Seriously.

Wow.

Oh, yes, his name is appropriate.

But damn that kid is fast.

8. I watched his qualifying run today, and I am in shock.
This kid blew the competition away.

He was so far ahead of everybody that somewhere in the middle he basically slowed down and still won running 9.92.

And the most amazing part is that he didn't look like he was exerting himself that much.

He looked like he was jogging, not sprinting.

I cannot wait to see the final.

19. Wow.
I cannot wait to see the video.

NBC has nothing up on their worthless website. YouTube has a slideshow from the AP and some moran's cellphone camera crap, but nothing good.

Fuckin' NBC.

Wait until you see him run the 200m.
He's from the same parish as Merlene Ottey - Trelawny.

11. Wow. He absolutely blew TG away in that recent race.
It's amazing that a guy that tall (about 6'5") can run like the wind. :wow:

9. The semis are this morning - those were the quarters
Lightning Bolt as we call him has been an outstanding athlete since school days. He was really a 200m runner for most of his young life. He won the world juniors when we hosted the World Junior Games in 2003 and we were there for that wonderful event. He broke the world juniors 200m record in 2004 (19.93).

That was an unbelievable race yesterday - he was so easy and had time to look around. He could win the double in Beijing.

Usain Bolt is amazing, and I've only seen him run one time.

16. He was injured running the 200m at the US trials
I always thought he would have problems because they down-played the injury but from the first heat, it was clear he was not race ready. A real pity because he is a genuinely nice human being. In a post race interview he didn't blame the injury.
