Poll question: When will Sen. Ted Stevens resign?
Oh my, oh my, that Good Old Boy is in very deep dooo dooo now!
Federal prosecutors offered a glimpse of previously unseen evidence:

Prosecutors Reveal More in Stevens Case
http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/494557.html

The new filings go substantially further than the indictment handed up against Stevens last month .....

"... senator used inside help to profit from Florida condo."

"... a secret $5,000 investment in a Florida condo ... into ... $100,000 in quick profits."

"... Stevens sought jobs from Veco for a son and a grandchild and a new Jeep Cherokee for his daughter..."

... Stevens' activities went well beyond his legislative role and should not be protected. One example prosecutors cited was Stevens pushing for state legislation on a proposed natural gas pipeline ....

... the FBI secretly recorded telephone calls between Allen, Stevens, his legislative staff and his son ...

6. Stevens won't resign.
He has too many fans up here who fail to see why a senator should be held to a different standard than regular people. They're all like "So what? Isn't that what friends are for?" They also somehow seem to believe that Ted's troubles are the result of a Democratic witch hunt, notwithstanding the fact that the Department of Justice is packed with Republican appointees.

I see him handily defeating his opponents in the Republican primary and giving Mark Begich a run for his money in the general, assuming he's not in prison by then.

9. Go Nick Begich
I agree...Senator NO! is all wrapped up in his own ego and if he survives the primary, he'll fight it to the bitter end. Also, he has no real serious challengers...who would run in his place...especially if his trial ends with less than a month until election day? The best hope for the GOOP to hold this seat is for terrible teddy to win and then resign. Also, even if he's convicted, be assured he'll appeal that will keep his ass out of jail and, if he wins, keep his Senate seat as well. Hopefully he lets his ego elect Nick Begich.

10. It's Mark, not Nick.
Nick is his older brother, the researcher into HAARP.

13. Yes, the death of Nick Sr.
is what brought us 36 years of the despicable Don Young. How different Alaska's history might have been without that particular mysterious plane crash.
