Congress Passes $60k Law School Loan Forgiveness Program for Prosecutors and Public Defenders
Bush signed it into law yesterday (Aug 14 2008), where it then became Public Law No: 110-315.

Have to say, I'm impressed by Bush signing this (and not scratching it out or issuing a signing statement). Only in a Dem Congress could we get something like this. Now us poor law school grads can go into public service w/o worrying as much about loan debt. Kudos to all who supported this.

6. How about the millions of other students burdened with an albatross
How about for teachers?

Or scientists?

Or engineers?

7. The law is massive, I haven't seen whether teachers are covered.

Often, federal programs exist where doctors and teachers can get similar relief. This is a first I've seen for lawyers.

8. Good for them. Now they should forgive ALL student loans. WTF should you go into $100K debt
to train for a job that will probably not be there as soon as you graduate?

I am speaking as an IT professional.
