Poll question: Olympic Poll #2: Opening Ceremonies Commentary
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 02:05 AM by ColbertWatcher
Worst comments by Matt Lauer and Bob Costas during the Olympic opening ceremonies?

Choice 1: Lauer's stupid costume comments
Choice 2: their stupid Olympic "history" comments
Choice 3: their stupid geography comments
Choice 4: their stupid cultural explanations
Choice 5: their stupid political comments, yet silence about Haiti's political turmoil
Choice 6: the emotional speculation regarding how happy/excited the athletes/spectators/cheerleaders are
Choice 7: Everything single fucking thing that came out of their stupid fucking mouths
Choice 8: I don't care, I muted the TV
Choice 9: Other (please elaborate in reply)

1. Excruciating.
And I want to sue them both for physical, mental and emotional distress.

3. Good point.
I just noticed they were talking about them.

I didn't realize how racist they were.

Thank you for posting.

5. I don't think it was
racist, they insulted everyone's "garb" that they had time for. x(

However, mostly ignored the comments.

This was my 17th Olympic cycle...there are no superlative adjectives to describe the grace, beauty and technology in the opening ceremonies. Feel sad for those who missed it, it was fantastic. Closed mindedness is very boring and not very bright.

6. After hearing it my wife said no wonder people hate america.
I think Costas actually laughed at a couple of countries during the walk in part.

It was embarasing.

7. Matt Lauer ruined the Opening Night. We had to mute it because he was making us all to upset.
Memo to Mat Lauer: No one tuned in to see you or hear you. I hope NBC gets a lot of calls. He simply ruined the Opening Night.

Thanks, ColbertWatcher for your OP. I'm glad that our family wasn't the only one steaming. He ruined the night.
