Suskind's CIA source Richer on the record: "almost all that stuff came from one place only: Scooter"

<snip>

Rob: No, no, no. What I remember is George saying, 'we got this from'--basically, from what George said was 'downtown.'

Ron: Which is the White House?

Rob: Yes. But he did not--in my memory--never said president, vice president, or NSC. Okay? But now--he may have hinted--just by the way he said it, it would have--cause almost all that stuff came from one place only: Scooter Libby and the shop around the vice president.

Ron: Yeah, right.

Rob: But he didn't say that specifically. I would naturally--I would probably stand on my, basically, my reputation and say it came from the vice president.

1. Well, here's my thoughts about that. If George Bush did not agree with
what Cheney was doing, he would have fired him by now. Bush is complicit because the excuse of being an idiot only goes so far.

2. You're funny
The figurehead doesn't fire the real pResident, no matter how many delusions of grandeur he might be under (and he is given to great delusions). Nope, I really do think they kept him out of the loop and I think it worked because Bush is and always has been, in the words of Molly Ivins, uniquely incurious.

3. I maintain that the last time he suffered from such delusions, he was given the pretzel cure. n/t

4. I disagree with the Harold and Kumar defense.

Personally, I think this guy grew up at his daddy's knees listening to all the war stories between GBI and his CIA buddies, and everything they did illegally and got away with. I think GBII has a different set of morals and view of the world. He looks incurious to us because we keep judging him by the standards we all live by, when we should be seeing him for what he really is: Raised in an extremely privileged society where secrecy hid their flaws and greedy goals. With the internet, they no longer can hide.

5. LOL! Reminds me of this Olbermann quote:
"Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign. Would that you could say that, Mr. Bush. And that you could say it for Mr. Cheney. You both crossed the Rubicon yesterday. Which one of you chose the route, no longer matters. Which is the ventriloquist, and which the dummy, is irrelevant."
