Mike Barnicle: If True, Bush Is Guilty of Murdering 4,000 Americans

Update: Link to video of the interview here

On Hardball today, Mike Barnicle just made a fairly explosive statement. They were talking about Ron Suskind's new book The Way of the World, in which Suskind alleges via interviews with multiple colleagues and subordinates of George Tenet the explosive charge that the Bush Administration gave the CIA an actual paper ordering them to forge a document drawing connections between Al Qaeda and Iraq.

Suskind was on the show, and faced fierce questioning from Barnicle--specifically about why Suskind didn't interview Tenet himself. Suskind responded that Tenet was confused and "did not remember" a large number of incidents from the time, including the famous "slam dunk" remarks--but that numerous colleagues and subordinates keep detailed records.

Barnicle then said something explosive:

I'm asking you this because, if this allegation is true, then the President, or at least the Vice President, is guilty of the murder of over 4,000 Americans through the War In Iraq.

4. Duh! Of course he's guilty of murdering 4,000 people.
He is also guilty of negligent homicide on 9/11 because he ignored warnings and also could have saved lives in New Orleans if the National Guard was not in Iraq. This lying son of a bitch is a criminal and needs to go to jail for a long fucking time. :dem:

5. Does anyone know what Tenet's
problem is? Is it deliberate "forgetting" or does he have Alzheimers or Senile Dementia?

9. same problem they ALL have when confronted with the depths of their
complicity in whatever the depredation of the moment might be, and Tenet has a LOT to forget

not that he's any different than the rest of the the Hole in the Constitution Gang

Suskind said that Tenet is renowned for having a ''selective memory,'' btw.

8. Certainly does appear that this crop of bosshog has no regard for
human life. Why should they? There are no penalties for them to face. What's more, they really do believe that they have a right to be entitled.

to die on 9/11 because of their indifference and negligence. They had the evidence in their hands and they chose to ignore it.

15. He said it pretty sarcastically and incredulously IMO..
he was trying very hard to poke holes in Suskind's story, but Suskind wouldn't budge calling it irrefutable.

18. It's much more than 4000+
Couple weeks ago when I went to a Kucinich fundraiser and one of the things Dennis talked about was the skewed numbers of dead soldiers. He said that the 4000+ plus number is very low and it's only the count/number of people that died directly on or near the battlefield. They don't figure in the ones that died later in the hospitals outside of Iraq or electrocuted in showers and they certainly don't include the ones that commit suicide.

Dennis said the number of dead American soldiers is far greater than you or I know:-(

If the people knew the true number would they finally be outraged?
Surprised maybe... but outraged?????

19. Give that Man A Prize, I have been yelling this to anyone who would listen
Since I saw Bush say he never said Iraq had anything to with 9/11

Now can we put this Jackass President of hours in Handcuffs and under the jail
but first he has to give a personal Apology to all the mothers and wives who lost their son or husband
