4. From the postings here at DU...
A lot of people have already made up their minds from among the other candidate. And then there's the Repubs who belong to DU. ;)

11. You should have been here before 2003.
Back then, Gore was like Hillary is now. Hated, blamed as a DLC sellout, etc. The day he announced he wasn't running in 2004, many of the very people condemning him as a DLC sellout declared he was a progressive champion who had been forced out by the DLC. Even now some of the former Gore detractors will say "He changed, man!" despite the fact that he's been working on the same core issues his whole career.

I'm just glad to see him on the upswing again. Although, the moment he gets back in the race and takes the lead, he will be declared a DLC sellout, a loser, a DINO, etc. Some liberals just hate frontrunners.

23. That's not why I'm not for Gore
I don't want Gore to run for 2 reasons:

1) He's better off fighting the all-important war against global warming, and being President would be a huge distraction

2) I don't want a President who (with Bill Clinton) campaigned on a platform of "welfare reform", which was just a PC way of saying, "F*ck the poor".

24. Sounds legite.
There were and are honest reasons based on facts and ideology to not support Gore, or any other candidate. And it sounds like you've kept your basic opinion of him the same. I'm talking about literally the same posters who one day criticized Gore as a DLC champion and the next were claiming the DLC had done in our great progressive champion. The same thing will happen with Hillary. Some of those screaming, inaccurately, about her supporting Bush and being a conservative and all that will scream about how she was destroyed by the media if she loses.

6. I'd strongly consider it, but I wouldn't make up my mind until closer to the primary
after I had heard all of the candidates. I know the candidate Gore of 2000, and the activist Gore of the last seven years, but I don't know how he will campaign, compared to the other candidates, yet. I'd have to see that.

He'd have the edge, though. :)

way, way too close to call. :sarcasm:
