Poll question: Compared with early August 2004, do you see fewer or more presidential bumper stickers?
Maybe it's just me, but I seem to remember seeing a lot more Kerry and Bush stickers by this time in '04, and more Gore and Bush stickers in '00. I see some, but not a lot of Obama stickers, while I can (literally) count on one hand the number of McSame stickers I've seen (actually, when looking at the opposition's vehicles, I've seen more W'04, Bush/Cheney, and Ron Paul stickers than McSame stickers)

1. There are some Obama stickers, not one McCain seen yet, and I drive a lot
Minneapolis area. Not a McCain yard sign either, but Obama signs are everywhere.

9. I've only seen one McSame yard sign
It was in Denver, and there was an Obama sign across the stgreet, so I suspect one sign was a reaction to the other.

2. I see 10X more "W2004" stickers than I see McCain stickers.
But overall, I'm only seeing about of the political bumper stickers and yard signs that I saw four years ago.

3. I see countless Obama stickers every day. I have seen only 4 McSame stickers in all of California.
However, I live in super-duper-lefty-land in an area of Los Angeles, so it isn't a big shocker there. However, between San Diego county, Orange County, LA county, Ventura county, Santa Barbara county and the drive up the 5 and down the 101 from the North Bay area of San Francisco where my parents live, I have seen a grand total of 4 McSame stickers. Last time I checked, Obama is ahead by approximately 25% in California, so this is what I would expect to see.

Mr. kt is in Colorado on business right now and he has seen only a small handful of McSame and a few more Obama. He is surprised how many business people he's met with who have made pro-Obama and anti-McSame remarks, which is unusual for two reasons: he finds that most people he does business with in other states tend to keep their politics to themselves (they probably assume his political affiliation due to where he lives,) and if they do make a comment, it is usually slamming Gore for the environmental issues and preferring rethugs because they allow business to have a ton of tax loopholes. He is surprised at how many people have openly made pro-Obama comments when normally politics wouldn't be bright up at all.

In the end, this is purely anecdotal, but it, to me, indicates a shift in the way people are looking at politics and how they are considering Obama and the country in general above their own selfishness. After the past eight years, this is quite a change indeed!

10. Today, I drove through about 175 miles of Iowa and South Dakota
I saw a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker....that was it (I'm exempting my Obama magnetic sticker).

In 5 days in South Dakota, I saw 1 Obama yard sign... I saw two large opposition signs for Ron Paul (both in South Dakota and both in front of small businesses) (and I think it's an open question whether those folks will vote McCain, Barr, or simply stay home)

4. Almost nonexistant where I am.
I've seen some local election yard signs, but not a single Obama nor McCainus one. Maybe after the convention(s)...

8. Way, way fewer.
I think people in general are fed up with politics. I know I am. I just want it over already.
