Condi Rice: Bush administration didn't realize "how incredibly broken Iraq was"

http://www.vaildaily.com/article/20080804/NEWS/713441263/1062

<snip>

In the “words” portion, Rice was every inch the Secretary of State. She defended the decision-making process leading up to the Iraq War, calling the notion that the Bush administration just wanted to go to war something that gets under her skin.

However, she acknowledged that the administration hadn’t realized “how incredibly broken Iraq was” and how hard it would be to rebuild the country. Recently, the administration unveiled a new Civilian Response Corps, who will be trained to stabilize and reconstruct countries after a crisis like the Iraq War she said.

Speaking in respose to an audience member’s criticism, she also defended the Bush administration’s refusal to sign the Kyoto Protocol or the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, arguing that the different committments of third and first world countries need to be clarified in those ageements.

6. Who could have possibly predicted that Iraq would be broken?
Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 04:43 PM by AndyA
I mean, after bombing the hell out of it, slicing and dicing its government to pieces, destroying its police...who could have possibly predicted that would become a major problem???

What a bunch of fucking dim wits the Bush Administration is! If you told them all to go jump off a bridge somewhere, no doubt even gravity would not cooperate with them. :(

7. Oh yes they did. They wouldn't have invaded if Iraq was strong and had WMD.
And now they've strengthened Iran by weakening Iraq still further. Thanks fellas.

8. Had National Security Advisor Rice taken a hard reading of all the hard intelligence
that was available about Iraq, she would have gotten a pretty good idea of conditions in Iraq, but that wouldn't have meshed with their RW ideological agenda, now would it? :P

9. Is she retarded? They bombed them for three freakin days!
The White House watched the bombing like a Fourth of July fireworks diplay. What the hell did they expect? To go in and just have to clear some brush. Nevermind crimes. They need to be removed from officer for mental disability and infirmity. They're just too fucking stupid!

12. Is there a name for someone who sees everything but the facts?
If not we should make one up. How about the verb to Condi. Or Condifying reality. The blatant condification of facts with the express intent to use any and all available twists and spin to hang on to an assertion in the face of overwhelming evidence and debunking.

Condification, similar to Pelosification but with a lesser tendency to the burying of reason through refusal to even address it:

Condify: The ability to justify the actions taken because the results of the original actions made the situation so untenable and unbalanced that it's necessary to take action like the original action which created the problem that now requires the action.

14. That's too generic
And also covers Morans and Dimwits.

What Condi does isn't in that category. It's pretty much in a category all its own.
