This is a post at the bottom of this website,

But if this is an honest post, this is a whole different can of worms for the FBI, and note that this is NOT ANONYMOUS.

I have been a close friend of Dr. Bruce Ivins for years. The FBI needed a scapegoat, especially after Stephen Hatfill, whose foot the FBI ran over, won a $5.2 M lawsuit against them.

The new FBI director needed a capture in this case. So, they took all of the Ft. Detrick anthrax researchers and put them under intense interrogation.

Bruce was a mild, meek and sensitive scientist. The FBI showed his clinically depressed daughter, who was institutionalized in a mental hospital, photos of the anthrax victims, and said "your father did this." They offered his son $2.5 M and a sportscar if he would "rat" on his father.

Bruce could not stand stand up to the constant harrasment by the FBI. So we have lost a very talented researcher, so that the FBI can close the case...

I found a Gerald Higgins listed in the white pages online for Silver Spring, Maryland.

On the 'net I found some references of a Gerry Higgins as an expert on Alzheimer's Disease, and being with the National Institute on Aging.

This guy?

This is a guess. But $$ offered to the son? I believe someone needs to follow up on that.

1. So you found him in the white pages.
Why not call him and ask? If he's actually got that information, and is willing to disclose it publicly with his name attached, I'm sure he'll be happy to oblige.

4. I think this post is going to end up loaded up with naysayers. If not this one,
another one or one hundred on this subject. DU is not host to people liks us who are quick to want to learn when it's a suicide, some others only want to attempt to use their membership to redirect the logic and ridicule us. This subject is a sure one for them to descend.

5. Be VERY careful here. The FBI case is coming apart at the seams...

Planting a false story and then having it blow up in Glenn's or Larissa's face is just what the doctor ordered.

6. dunno
But I think it is worth talking to the guy (not me, an investigative reporter). It should be easy enough to figure out if 1) this is an actual post by someone named Dr. Gerry Higgins, and 2) if he was really friends with Ivins. If it is the Higgins that I surmised it could be, I doubt if he would wreck his career spreading a false story. But of course it could be someone using a false name.

But I agree it would be totally brazen and so forth for the FBI to offer the son money. How over the top is that?

7. I'm just saying BE CAREFUL. Check sources, you know, good journalism...
Think the opposite of what the "Main Stream" media did this weekend.

8. Also
It should be fairly easy to find out if his daughter had been institutionalized with depression. I have not seen that in any news stories.
