What would congress need to do?

Now obviously...congress would need to be convinced. But I would assume pressure from the right places might achieve motivation.

1. According to the US Constitution, Article I, Section 2
Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 09:35 AM by TechBear_Seattle
The House of Representatives shall choose their speaker and other officers....

So either Pelosi gets voted out of office (extremely unlikely, as she is an incumbent running for re-election) or the members of the House depose her and elect a different speaker (even less likely.)

The best we can hope for is that the voters of Pelosi's district vote her out of office, which will not be happening this year as she has already won the primary. And she is certainly better than a Republican, right?

Right?

2. It's so late in the game, she doesn't need to be removed, just not
elected Speaker for the next congress.

Unfortunately, our picking up seats in November, which is more than likely, will be seen as a justification of her leadership, and I fear she will be re-elected Speaker.

4. More to the point is-- why would you want to? Her...
tenure as Speaker so far is as good or better than past Speakers.

Look to history, not to your own disappointment that your personal agenda has not been realized.

6. Step 1:
Get yourself elected to the House. Then you'll have a say in it.
