Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore?
Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 08:12 AM by erpowers
I would like to suggest that member of DU watch the documentary film "Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore". It was a great documentary that covered the 2006 election race for the seat from which Dick Gephardt was retiring. The film follows Jeff Smith a 29 year old new comer to campaigns as he trys to win the seat that ten other Democrats, including Russ Carnahan, are running for. I think this film was very interesting. It may anger some people as a result of the ending of the film.

1. The bosses screen their candidates better these days
They make sure they are corrupt before they let them inside the walls of Congress.

Mr Smith simply slipped through the cracks.
