FBI was told to blame Anthrax scare on Al Qaeda by White House officials
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/us_world/2008/08/02/2008-08-02_fbi_was_told_to_blame_anthrax_scare_on_a.html

WASHINGTON - In the immediate aftermath of the 2001 anthrax attacks, White House officials repeatedly pressed FBI Director Robert Mueller to prove it was a second-wave assault by Al Qaeda, but investigators ruled that out, the Daily News has learned.

After the Oct. 5, 2001, death from anthrax exposure of Sun photo editor Robert Stevens, Mueller was "beaten up" during President Bush's morning intelligence briefings for not producing proof the killer spores were the handiwork of terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden, according to a former aide.

"They really wanted to blame somebody in the Middle East," the retired senior FBI official told The News.

On October 15, 2001, President Bush said, "There may be some possible link" to Bin Laden, adding, "I wouldn't put it past him." Vice President Cheney also said Bin Laden's henchmen were trained "how to deploy and use these kinds of substances, so you start to piece it all together."

4. Very interesting. Some people caved into the Bush administration and others did not.
The CIA and Colin Powell caved. They provided false evidence and or/false witness to enable the Bush White House to invade Iraq. It looks like Mueller did not cave.

If he had, we would have seen much more about the anthrax attacks in the news, and it would have been continually cited as another piece of "evidence" proving that we must invade Iraq immediately.

Looks like Mueller would not play ball. Good for him.

32. ...because ABC/Brian Ross reported anthrax was linked to Iraq
McCain was just being a good neocon foot soldier in repeating the ABC propaganda that they had "proof" that the anthrax was linked to Iraq and Saddam Hussein...hence, giving Bush & Cheney justification to invade Iraq

Robert Mueller was installed as FBI chief on September 4, 2001, seven days before 9/11.Robert Mueller was previously stationed in Boston, a key city in the 9/11 plot. Robert Mueller was U.S. attorney in Boston, where the suboffice of the FBI was SHIELDED FROM INVESTIGATION during a key scandal in which the FBI suboffice had developed mob ties.

Bush later BLOCKED INQUIRY into the Boston FBI, which Mueller as U.S. attorney had also shielded from inquiry.

15. Wasn't part of the reason for going into Iraq "biological weapons"?
It wasn't just weapons of mass destruction, it was the threat of biological and chemical warfare. They made it sound like our troops would be in danger if they weren't in hazmat gear all the time. Well, that was another thing never found in Iraq.

each passing day. Some of the dots being connected pre 9/11 up to 9/11 and other dots being connected backwards from where we are today. Soon they will converge and I got to believe that someone will lay this open.

I'll ask the question - If * issues pardons and after he leaves office it all comes together - can we still get these guys?

33. My guess--Bush's pardons are only good for U.S. crimes & prosecution.
If he actually issues pardons, we'll need the rest of the world to step in and see that justice is done!

I want to see the whole rotten lot thrown in the Hague!

I sure hope the outrage worldwide is so overwhelming if he issues pardons that another country steps up and brings every evil criminal in the present administration to justice!

One question: Don't you have to be tried and convicted of, or at least charged with a crime before the President can issue a pardon? Can he actually pardon someone before they're charged? If this happens won't that be telling? How would he know the pardoned needed pardoning if there were never any charges in the first place?

20. On October 15, 2001, President Bush said, "There may be some possible link"
An Anthrax Timeline:

On September 5, Ms. Clarke--lured back into government service by pal Mary Matalin on Vice President Dick Cheney's staff, from a high-paying post as Manhattan office director for the venerable public relations firm of Hill & Knowlton--the former PR chief to Senator John McCain and one-time George Bush (the elder) staffer would divulge to foreign media that the United States, via the Pentagon and the shadowy Defense Cooperative Threat Reduction Program, would begin producing a new and potent strain of anthrax bacteria, and that such plans had been in the works since 1997. The source of the anthrax was to be from Russian stock, and, according to Ms. Clarke, would be used "purely for defensive measures."

At the popular political site FreeRepublic.com, Victoria Clarke posts as "Torie"--a self-proclaimed "statist neocon." The Pentagon's disinformation campaign was already in motion on September 5, 2001, and Victoria Clarke, then employed as Deputy Director for Public Affairs, was its "go-to girl" on "the anthrax question
."...

I always remember that the first victim of the anthrax murders was Robert Stevens, killed shortly after the Sun published that embarrassing photo of Jenna Bush. AND the feds shrinkwrapped the Sun's entire inventory, including photos of who knows what, and have never released them.

a redneck christian theocracy where the average citizen is more concerned with Nascar and keeping a black guy out of the WH. Politicians love to say what great respect they have for the American voters, which I guess they have to, but I have very little respect for the average voter. They gave us two Bushes, Tom Delay, Ted Stevens, Strom Thurman and the list just goes on and on. So respect, not a bit from me.
