Simplest Question of All - why did the entire MSM develop amnesia about the Anthrax attacks?
Threatened the entire country

People died

Congress shut down

MEDIA themselves targets

You would think they would have been all over this like ___________

And yet, they couldn't drop it fast enough.

No updates, no follow-ups or follow throughs except the misinformation about Hatfill.

They LOVE to say, "no terrorist attacks after 9/11"

So, news directors everywhere - what caused your supreme lack of interest?

4. Because the lab results were supposed to prove Iraq did it...
Once a report came back saying "This is US produced weaponized Anthrax", the story became invisible.

5. You will be told
You will be told that it was because there were no new developments, nothing new to report. The implication is that the popular media outlets can't just manufacture news stories without anything to go on. They will hope that you have forgotten their endless puffing of such stories as Natalee Holloway, Gary Condit/Chandra Levy and Terri Schiavo. Three stories that went on and on and on despite there being no developments for weeks on end.

They are counting on people either having short memories or to lack critical thinking skills.

6. this is a very incurious group of people!
I think the Monica Goodling guidelines have been in place for a lot longer than we know about in the private sector.

7. Simple.
Same reason why the Democrats continue to fold like a cheap suit when a Republican threatens them.

Democrats send a strongly worded letter.
Republicans have someone kill or assassinate you.

Big difference.

8. Pure vanilla messaging, too
When it was covered, not even a mention that there might be questions, concerns of a wider conspiracy. Nothing. Except Olbermann's great interview with Gerald Posner.

12. Exactly. Call it cowardice or an instinct for self-preservation.
In either case, behavior is fueled by fear, and not unreasonable fear. No, well-founded paranoia because of extremely wide-spread intimidation coming from the White House itself.

Everyone has been terrorized by this administration. Everybody knows they're in danger to some extent or another, including Cheney himself. It's the classical reign of terror set-up. And as a whistleblower you have to be willing to die for your bravery without even knowing whether your sacrifice will make one iota of a difference.

The US has been deliberately traumatized. Shock Doctrine basics.

11. Here's something else that
most people are blissfully unaware of:

Very soon (within two weeks) of 9/11, there was speculation in the NYTimes about a possible anthrax attack. Several years ago I got onto the NYT website and did a search, and sure enough, it was there.

Why in the world was anyone, anywhere speculating about such a thing? Plus, despite the hysteria and the few people who did die, "weaponized" anthrax is an extremely inefficient way to kill large numbers of people.
