What do you think of Obama's idea of the oil companies funding rebates?
I like the idea. The greedy bastards.

Give some of that money back to the people!!!

1. I'd much rather see that huge amount of money used to fund promising alternative energy initiatives.
give it straight to Gore to make a thinktank or some shit.

2. I like Sen. Byron Dorgan's idea of a windfall profits tax.
Oct 28, 2005 Sen. Byron Dorgan proposed a "windfall profit" tax on oil being sold above $40 a barrel.

Maybe Dorgan should have run for President!!!

Temporary feel good measure which won't make a dent in oil prices or help wean us off oil.

Make them permanent, annual rebates however and I might be persuaded.

We could just put all those profits right into the US treasury, the Social Security fund for example, or medicare, or public education.
