15. Oil companies already have 68 million arces of public lands they haven't even drilled on and
Edited on Fri Aug-01-08 04:22 PM by GreenTea
now they want all the coastlines as well as all of Alaska in their pockets....

The oil companies want it all before BushCo Inc. leaves office. That oil men, Bush & Cheney's promise to them.

Even if the oil companies started drilling today on the coast or Alaska - not a drop of oil would NOT be seen from the new drilling by almost all accounts at least until eight years from now.

Even eight years from now it might, might lower gas prices a couple of cents.

Oil companies aren't going to give us any breaks...with deregulation they charge as much as they want....just look at the oil companies profits every quarter.

The republicans won't give a cent for alternative clean power in the form tax breaks or help and the republicans just voted them down for alternative energy....

But the republicans will give subsidies, incentives, tax breaks and all the land and coast to the polluting toxic oil companies that they want....Because the republican party is the oil companies and the corporations, the rich and greedy and hateful of the workers!

The oil companies don't give a shit what we pay at the pump as they gouge us at the pumps for the largest profit margins in world history....Oil companies will ONLY lower prices if they think it might help their party...their party of course is the republican party. The party of the rich & corporations and religious and working fools!

Who actually believes if the oil corporations had every drop of domestic oil and acess to every arce of the whole country...that the oil companies would lower gas prices by even one penny more than they have already planned?

17. "The oil companie want it all before BushCo Inc. leaves office."
Exactly ~ and Dems have to stand tough and put Barack's incentive program in place for alternative energy.

The oil companies will LEAD on alt. energy when they see those incentives ~ and the top-tier (old guys) get that their reign is over.

19. I know...I know
The Pugs are sniffing the breeze and they know this is now a huge campaign issue.
People are hurting and hurting so bad that the average Joe/Jane is desperate.
People want any kind of crumb or bit of hope offered and promised to them.
If Americans are told there is relief coming if only offshore drilling is allowed, they might go for it.
ANYTHING to help get fuel in the truck or car so they can afford to even drive to work!
Americans are broke and scared shitless.
Pugs know it and are using it...unfortunetly, probably effectively. Bastards
