McCain's cancer back? Maybe
Personally, I think this could be a ploy. McCain might want an excuse to drop out "for health reasons" before the GOP convention -- depending on what the polls tell him:

http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN2849967620080728?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews&rpc=22&sp=true

BAKERSFIELD, California (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who has suffered from skin cancer in the past, had a spot removed from his face on Monday during a routine checkup by a doctor in Phoenix, an aide said.

"At this point it was just a precautionary removal," the aide told reporters on McCain's campaign plane. She said the spot was covered by a bandage and was visible on his face.

McCain has had four malignant melanomas -- a potentially lethal type of skin cancer -- surgically removed since 1993. Three of them were limited to the top layers of the skin and were not invasive. The fourth melanoma was invasive and was removed from his left temple in 2000

There is NO WAY McCain is going to be on the ballot. He is obviously too ill to actually take the oath.

especially with lily white skin like he has.

34. o Jeebus, I think you may be right!
i just shivered.

this would be the only other answer for them right now to continue the Bush/Clinton/Bush dynasty. they will do all they can to keep the whitehouse out of the hands of a 'commoner' and the keys to the information drawers away from prying eyes.

out of curiousity, timeline wise, when did McCain make that miraculous 'recovery' of his during the primaries and how did it coincide with the realization that Hillary may not be the inevitable nominee as thought?

I'm not sure what I'm getting at but i sure the hell am sure there are powrhouses in both camps that do not want a president that represents the people but want to stay with the Ministry of Keeping Things McSame.

8. I think that's pretty common
People who've had melanoma get checked often just so the docs can catch things very, very early.

24. Indeed - I had two spots removed at my last skin checkup
(Actually, it happens at most of my checkups; I think my dermatologist has a fetish for the biopsy blade... :scared:)

I wouldn't assume anything beyond normal caution in McCain's case, and I hope the results are normal...

32. As do I.
My mom had a melanoma removed a few years back - so now I'm pretty diligent about visits to the derm. Fortunately for me, I got over that sunbathing thing early on - I just burn, anyway. So at least so far, I've been good!

I wouldn't wish cancer on the guy, even though I think he's entirely unqualified to be President.

17. jeb? (that is the proper spelling, it's not a question) is heir-apparent #1...
even in the bush syndicate...somehow cheney, rove, and all hijacked the party and pushed the idiot to the top ahead of the plan...and now jr and his gang have screwed the pooch...jeb? gets thing back on track, so to speak....

the stealing of america was supposed to be a slower, methodical process whereby we all went broke at the exact same time as they got away with all the loot...

they did not anticipate an 8-year smash and grab, which in reality has limited, although that means limited multi-billions, gains compared to the total dismemberment of our current economic society which requires years of transfers of power, structure, etc...

jeb? is how the bushco's (poppy's boys) jump the shark and get back in charge, REAL charge...

27. As Jacob Weisberg put it, in "The Bush Tragedy" (good book)
"Jeb, the obedient son, the one who was supposed to be president, who even after George Junior's election was regarded as a potential third in the line, now faced an impasse in his career. His older brother had raced ahead and blown up the bridge behind him."

The Bush Crime Family is not stupid. They know that Jeb cannot win the Pres. spot but the want him in for 2012, so the VP slot will propel him into the circle.

38. Sorry but someone who's had a lethal below derma cancer
removed from a spot millimeters from his BRAIN should be nowhere NEAR the Presidency, period.

FDR was one thing, don't have any probe with wheelchair folks, but McCancer could be chock full of rogue cells as we speak, this is a matter of National Security, whether a guy (who is nuts already) goes Bonkers due to a brain tumor and blows up the world..

I mean what are we likely to hear? "President McCains Tumor appears to be shrinking and doctors attribute his bizarre behaviour to other factors.. Fear not Citizen, Everything is in Order.."

People should be hammering on this..

40. More bullshit from the self-proclaimed "straight talk" candidate
Having been diagnosed with skin cancer four times already, McCain has a suspicious skin growth cut from his face.

His take on the situation?

"(My dermatologist) took a small little nick from my cheek as she does regularly and that will be, will be biopsied just to make sure that everything is fine."

If McCain ever became POTUS, I can easily forsee him downplaying any number of critical or potentially critical situations in a similar manner.

"The nuclear reactor at Someville recorded a small increase in one of the many things they monitor and had a slight release of steam that was quickly dispersed. We are watching the situation closely and assure the public that there is nothing to worry about."

"Historically the economy has been better. But we have the situation well in hand and urge everyone to keep on shopping."

Feel free to add your own.
