In 2006, she got cheated out of a House seat by electronic voting machines...
...with such bad ballot design that many voters in a Democratic precinct didn't vote for US Congress.

Now in 2008, Christine Jennings (D) is running, again.

I donated $220 to "Christine Jennings for Congress" (FL-13).

1. What sickens me the most about this shit is that IT HASN'T BEEN DEALT WITH!!!
We have no assurances that it won't happen again and ton of apathy among the people with the power to do something about it. This is the tip of the dagger point being driven into the heart of democracy.

2. Florida has switched to paper (optical-scan) for the 2008 election...
...except for the disabled who may still use electronic voting machines.

5. that makes me feel somewhat better, except for the fact that these
bastards seemed to have devised a number of other means to cheat, not just the evm, though that's obviously a big one.

3. And many Dems believe there is no electronic voting problem because the Dems took back congress.....
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 12:32 PM by LaPera
The republicans stole many races in 2006 with their easily hackable republican owned electronic voting machines (ES&S Diebold) the Democrats would of had an even larger majority if the republicans didn't steal races with their owned voting machines.

But many ignorant blind Dems believe there is no problems. Even many paper ballots are scanned on Diebold scanners and can be easily manipulated to give the desired count the owners want.

The republicans owned the machines, they get away with it and they'll keep doing it....what's to stop them again?

Hackable machines with no way to tell what the actual vote count was, only what the republicans program and/or hack it for...

Who thinks it won't happen again this November 2008?

IT WILL!

6. Republican opponent also cheated.

"It appears that (Vern Buchanan's) 369-vote victory may also have been due to some illegal campaign contributions, as well. One former employee is claiming that his $1,000 dollar donation to Buchanan for Congress was reimbursed by his employer...Vern Buchanan himself."
