1. Thanks for posting this! Why in the world would the Democratic
party comprimise on the VP? The Rethuglicans wouldn't even consider it.

Let's stop trying to be nice and accomodating! This is exactly why the country is in the shape it's in, the Democratic party compromised during the Nixon years and we are experiencing the results first Hand.

8. Maybe it's time for some guidelines from on-high about the VP situation
Not just for the GOP-VP threads (:eyes:) but I've been bothered by things in some of the VP speculation threads too. Rumors of affairs, incorrect info about voting records, confusion about whether Dem X said Y or Z about Q or P. Does there need to be some policy to control the mayhem of VP discussions? I don't want to stifle discussion, but on the other hand, it could get out of hand? The Pres. policy was to support Obama after a cooling-off period. I wasn't here in 2004 so I don't know what the VP stuff was like then?

32. Kerry won the primary much earlier than Obama did
And he had picked Edwards by this time, so there wasn't as much speculation. Also, Kerry did have a lot more experience than Obama, but not nearly the charisma. Please don't bash me for the Obama comment, its just my opinion and its not meant to put Obama down. The biggest difference at this point is that Barack is running a great campaign so far, far better than Kerry did, And McCain just sucks. He sucks both as a candidate and as a campaigner. It will be over as soon as the debates start. Of course, I said that about Bush's disasterous performance in the 2004 debates as well. But I think just about everybody is fed up with this administration.

11. I think we won't.
I don't see the DNC approving of a Democratic President appointing a Repuke as a cabinet member--especially a cabinet member who's 6th in the line of succession, and in charge of the military. Can you see the hell of trying to get rid of DADT with a Secretary of Defense who's vehemently opposed to getting rid of it?

No way. Obama is never gonna do that. Wes Clark is a much sounder choice for that post.

Thankfully the majority of people here aren't stupid enough to be advocating a Repuke for VP. I swear, it reminds me of the people who thought Kerry should ask McCain to be his VP. Look at McCain now--nobody would DREAM of suggesting such a thing now, would they?
