"Call your Representative!"
Such is the frequent header on emails. The current batch of emails asks that we call to support the idea that the impeachment resolution deserves to be heard. I can't disagree with that assertion and I have already called. Many times, on many issues.

That said, such calls from people like me are little more than annoyance for our "representative." Unless you are one of Marilyn Musgrave's contributors or at least a certified registered Republican, any response will be canned and very chilly. It goes without saying that Ms. Musgrave isn't likely to demand accountability from the president to whom she is so utterly devoted. But we call and write letters so that she can never say that she was unaware of our sentiments.

The good news is that Musgrave faces the very real likelihood of defeat this year. We look forward to having genuine representation in Congress for a change. And then we won't have to make phone calls to urge doing that which the Constitution demands.

1. Nothing annoys me more than having some yahoo tell me to call my representative
This is my "representative" -

It's unusual that you can actually see his face because he usually is so far up Bush's ass that there's no sight of him at all. His name is John Linder, but I usually refer to him as Mr. UnFairTax as he is the number one proponent of The "Fair Tax" in Congress.

He is an ultra right-wing hack that I have absolutely nothing in common with and I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire for fear of putting it out.

So, when someone who doesn't know a damn thing about me or my "rep" tells me to call Mr. UnFairTax Asshat, I say thanks but I'd rather bash my head in with a hammer.
