1. Is this where people can send him things?
Does he have a wish list?

is there anything he would like to have?

4. Sounds like he is doing okay
Glad to be there and get started on his rehab. And the Chicago folks are just wonderful. Between VFP, VVAW, IVAW and Code Pink, there are so many wanting to help I think they are forming a line and making a schedule!

8. Oh, yeah, you got that right!
We're all ready, willing, and just waiting to do whatever Tomas or his family need us to do. Hey Proud, our mutual friend says he did go see Tomas and his mom today. He reports that Tomas is strong and ready to start the work he needs to do, but a little worn out from the journey.

Oh - and at the last minute, the VA agreed to pay for his transportation, so Tomas flew here instead of that ten hour ambulance ride. The only problem was that the ambulance that was supposed to take him from the plane to the hospital in Chicago was forty five minutes late, so Tomas was out there on the tarmac breathing jet fuel fumes, waiting all that time. But, other than that, things are going well.

9. Amazing what the VA is agreeing to do
with just a little coaxing. :)

Thanks so much for helping out. I am going to try to come up to Chicago in the next week or so. Still trying to work out my schedule. I will be in touch.

Oh and tell our mutual friend to stay out of trouble. If he can. LOL

10. Well, according to our friend it was more like
shaming them into it than coaxing, but I'm just glad they finally agreed to pay.

As for our pal staying out of trouble, you know better than that! He's leaving for DC tomorrow, and I told him not to hide from the cameras this time, so we'll probably see him on our tv's at the hearing Friday.
