Is "Halfrican" enough to bring down Rush Limbaugh?
Seriously! I heard him use this term repeatedly on his show to describe Barack Obama. When is enough-enough? What does this prick have to say to finally send his ass to the ash-heap of history? When are advertisers, station managers, sales represtatives and the American people going to say "you've had your fucking fun - you racist ass, pill-popping, no talent Republican aplogist Ass-pickle, pole smoking prick" - YOU'RE FUCKING FIRED.

What does it take? How many outrages do we have to endure? Perhaps the Department of Defense can ask all the "Halfrican's" in the military how much they love having Rush piped into Armed Forces Radio? Perhaps Disney and ABC can explain to all the "Halfrican's" that buy their crap, visit their parks, watch their shows, and pay their salaries, why they give a forum to this limp-dicked piece of crap.

I'd like to know how much it takes. Does he need to bring down another building in Oklahoma City? Does he need to call Donovan McNabb the "N" word?

Isn't calling someone a "Halfrican" enough to get this guy fired?

7. IN short, no.
Limbaugh is also self-employed. The only way to get rid of him is for his ratings to drop, or for his comments to cause damage to the stations that carry him.

88. or to launch a massive and effective boycott campaign
against his show's sponsors.

Problem is, too many people either don't give a fuck or agree with him, so he can pretty much say what he wants until he dies, has a stroke or some other dibilitating event where he can't be understood anymore.

"Halfrican" sounds like a junior-high school taunt. Limbaugh is stretching hard. He knows that his days of spittle-flecked, fart-lighting glory are numbered.

I am convinced that nothing would dump Limballs off the air. Strident tone and controversy is all the rightwingnut radio hucksters have to offer.

Obama has shown us the right attitude to take on this shit by punching back early and often on the madrassa thing. He should pound that issue until the Repubs puke every time they hear him say it.

He should use the "Hafrican" phrase as often as possible.. push it right back down Rush's throat.

Cheney always seems to have time to run to Rushie every time he needs to get a message out to the minions..

For a guy who claims to be "an entertainer", he seems to have the full attanetion and support from the White House, doesn;t he :eyes:

and Cheney must not be very busy.. he has lots of time to go on "entertainment" shows.. Guess he can;t use the "too busy" excuse to weasel out of court appearances, now can he?

If he started telling the truth about Republicans he'd be off the air before you could say "Mega Dildos".

I've always believed that there's powerful money bank-rolling the likes of Limbaugh. The only advertiser I ever hear are from "Select Sleep Number Beds", "Hair Replacement", and "Enhanced Sexual Potency". Unless radio stations are charging $5 million a minute for ad time...someone else paying the bill, or in Rush' case..."floating the turd".

55. Select Sleep Number Beds do Air America Radio, too
I think Al Franken and Ed Schultz to promos for them, so they're trying to simply get their message out to as many people as possible.

AAR does not get the Enhanced Sexual Potency ads (guess we're just too virile) but they also do the Hair Restoration ones as well.

I don't listen to Rush. We have him here in the Twin Cities, on an FM station no less. And Ed Schultz kicks his ass in the ratings (and Hannity, too) on little startup AM950 every day.

AM950's ratings are up 50% from fall of 2005 to fall of 2006!!!!! Just about equal to the rightie talk station 100.3 FM

Compared with the previous fall, ratings dropped at Minnesota Public Radio's news and information station KNOW (91.1 FM), female-oriented WFMP (107.1 FM), talker KSTP (1500 AM), old-guard regional flagship WCCO (830 AM), conservative-geared WWTC (1280 AM) and sports-chat KFAN (1130 AM). Only liberal KTNF (950 AM) showed improvement.

The news also was bad at new conservative talker KTLK (100.3 FM), which launched last January. Executives had hoped that Jason Lewis' return in the summer would provide a sustained ratings boost. Initially his afternoon talk show drew more listeners ages 25-54 -- advertisers' prized demographic -- but ratings for KTLK's 3 to 7 p.m. slot (which also includes syndicated host Sean Hannity) sagged from a 3.7 share during the summer quarter to 2.1 in the fall.

His show is syndicated, so I guess stations could drop his show, but I doubt EIB would "fire" him ..

Limbaugh always claims to be "an entertainer" when he does shit like this, and weasels out of it.

20. Rush Limbaugh has peaked
The radical right wing cause that Limbaugh trumpets has lost its lustre and I suspect that he is also on the down side of his career. Seems I've heard that listeners are down. We can thank the babbling and bumbling chimp for that change in direction. I used to listen to him and Hannity on occasion, now I can't stand to listen even one minute to either one.

21. Everyone is saying this is way over the top, even for him--
But someone who would not only verbally but physically mock Michael J. Fox for the jerking movements caused by his Parkinson's Disease and the meds he takes for it is certainly not going to hesitate to use such slurs. And the fact that he wasn't dropped after that on-camera mocking suggests that he really could use the "N" word without being reprimanded, much less dropped, by the stations that carry his rants.

My fanstasy has always been for liberals to jam his program for days. It would be wonderful to shut him up. None of his minions could get on the air because no one but liberals would be getting screened. I also realize this has about as much chance as happening as pigs flying.

I don't think anything he does will get him booted. He brings money into the station and that's all they care about. When the fire gets a little to hot he cries he is an entertainer. What the neocons get by with is just plain wrong.

I hope the neocon movement is dying. WE have thought other movements have died in the past but their ugly heads keep rearing up.

53. If there is a God. This is what happens to Limbaugh
Limbaugh dies and goes to hell. The devil says to Rush; "since you were particularly evil while on earth, I am going to give you the option of choosing where in hell you will spend eternity".

The devil takes Rush on a tour. The first room they come to is the "Hypocrite Room". As Rush walks in, he sees Tom Delay, Dick Cheney, Sean Hannity and thousands of other prominent Republican politicians and donors. Millions of snarling rabid dogs chase the Republicans around slowly ripping off chunks of their flesh until they die an agonizing death. Seconds later, the Republicans bodies are restored and the process begins all over again. Rush looks at Satan and says; "I don't want to spend eternity in the Hypocrite Room".

The next room they come to is the "False Christian Room". In this room is Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Rick Santorum and thousands of other prominent Republican politicians and donors. Roman guards whip the Republicans to within an inch of their lives, and then they are slowly crucified until they die. After 3 minutes, they rise and the process starts all over again. Rush looks at Satan and says; "I don't want to spend eternity in the False Christian Room".

Rush turns to the devil and asks; "Dark Lord, aren't there any Democrats in hell?" The devil replies; "Yes Rush, there is one, but to see him, we must go to the 'Sex Room'". Rush walks into the "Sex Room" and sees table after table stocked with sumptuous food and fine wine. On one side of the room is a walk-in humidor with the finest cigars stacked as far as the eye can see. In the middle of the room, on a heart shaped bed, lays Bill Clinton. A beautiful darked haired woman is performing fellatio on Clinton. Rush looks to the devil and says; "you mean for all eternity, he stays in this beautiful room with all this wonderful food, getting a blow-job?". "Yes" replied the devil.

Rush thought for a minute and said; "devil, I've made my decision. I will spend eternity in the "Sex Room"!

The devil smiles, turns to the couple on the bed and says; "Monica - you're relieved".

Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 11:54 AM by Oreo
http://mediamatters.org/items/200701170010

Limbaugh called "Barack Hussein Obama" a "half-minority"

On the January 16 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh called Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) a "half-minority" and said that "the media ... are in the midst of Obama-gasms" because "Barack Hussein Obama" has formed a presidential exploratory committee. Limbaugh called Obama "a half-minority" in the context of criticizing Obama for supporting his hometown Chicago Bears over the New Orleans Saints in the upcoming January 21 National Football Conference championship game.

Limbaugh presumably referred to Obama as a "half-minority" because of Obama's lineage: his father was black and born in Kenya, while his mother was white, born in Kansas. Similarly, conservative talk-radio host Brian Sussman previously characterized Obama as "Halfrican."

As Media Matters for America documented, on February 7, 2006, Limbaugh said he "kind of like" a caller's statement that Obama "is the Donovan McNabb of the U.S. Senate." The statement was an apparent reference to Limbaugh's controversial comments in 2003 about McNabb, a quarterback for the National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles. Limbaugh, then an ESPN commentator, said that "he media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well" and, therefore, McNabb "got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve." As a result of his comments, Limbaugh resigned from ESPN.

43. He's hardly a "half minority" in America. Unfortunately, the "one drop" rule
still is accepted by many people in this country. It's beginning to change but not soon emough. Many people who are a wonderful melange of ethnicities from anywhere from Northern European,Mediterrean,American Indian to Asian are considered black if they exhibit any traits whatsoever of African lineage.

A personal story: A couple of years ago I was working with a guy that I've worked with for fifteen years and have always gotten along with quite well.He started going on about his family history and lineage.Basically Scotch-Irish and Cherokee.

So I thought I'd try something to see his reaction.I'm about as Anglo as you can get but I told this guy that my great-great-great-great grandmother was a slave. His jaw hit the ground and he was quite taken aback.Well,I didn't let him labor under the delusion that I was all of 1/64th African heritage for too long and told him I was pulling his leg.If I'd told him I had a smattering of any other ethnicity I'm sure he would have thought nothing of it.

To be drawn and quartered would be too good for that bloated, smug, smarmy, self-important, shit-mouthed excuse for a person.

59. Oh dear God, that is beyond creepy
Limp-bough looks like Ron Jeremy in some sort of cheesy '70s film. Can you say "busy tie"? And, oh god, the pants, the PANTS! I am so glad I was born DURING that era instead of before it, so I didn't have to wear that shit!

The kid looks like Ralphie from A Christmas Story ("You'll shoot your leg off!").

And that picture looks like something from a Stephen King book cover, right before somebody gets deboned with a straight razor and turned into tasty teryaki jerky.

The only people who hear that bullshit are the same people who agree with it. Why would advertisers stop advertising on the biggest right-wing talk host? Why would station managers fire their most lucrative talent? How could the American People™ fire him?

57. Do we lack the passion?
It seems that the "right" is very good at boycotting, raising a stink, threatening litigation and intimidating media and business to get what they want. Look at what happened to Dan Rather. Look at what happened to Phil Donohue. Look at what's currently happening to the mattress store in Illinois. Hell, look at what stomping their feet about "liberal media" has led to. Fucking Glen Beck has a show now on CNN and a regular gig on Good Morning America. This stuff matters.

When they wanted to stop the recount in Florida, their goons showed up stamping their feet and intimidating average ordinary Americans trying to do a job.

It's sickening. Democrats stomped a bloody, festering hole in the Republicans in November, but if you turn on a radio...ANY RADIO...you'd think the Repukes had 97 seats in the Senate.

When do Democrats begin using the power of our "purse-strings". When do we get so pissed we open the window and scream "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more"?

60. There's a hell of a difference between affecting
the actions of CNN and ABC and affecting the actions of a right-wing radio station. ABC has to listen to both the left and the right when considering programming decisions, and I admit we are woefully deficient at speaking up about our media outlets. However, just as no amount of conservative bawling would be able to shut down Air America (not that AAR needs the help...sigh), no amount of liberal complaining would shut down Rush Limbaugh. His fans, advertisers, and distributors are largely a closed ecosystem. If he has a fanbase, he's largely invincible.

81. Our whole media system is designed to remove responsibility from the guys at the top
ABC itself broadcasts 0 programs; it produces or acquires content that it then resells to affiliates. Unfortunately there's not that much leverage that can be applied in either direction on that relationship. The whole system is set up so that everybody can point the finger at someone else when a pissed off viewer or listener calls.

Deal with it.

Let's see...dealing in illicit drugs didn't do it, taking a bottle of boner pills to a place renowned for teenaged homosexual prostitutes didn't do it, saying Donovan McNabb's success in football was due to his ethnicity not his skills in football didn't do it...

Rush Limbaugh could fuck a sheep in the middle of the Boston Common on Patriot's Day (either the real one or the fake one Bush invented) and it wouldn't bring him down.

67. Right_Wing Scary People
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 05:09 PM by Madspirit
Do you know how many right-wing scary people there are out there right now? They have a huge fanbase. Rush Limbaugh, David Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Nat Hentoff, Mona Charen, Michael Medved, Michael Barone, David Horowitz, etc. I couldn't count them all. Every single one of them full of angry vitriolic, aggressive and violent agendas. Sometimes it makes me want to jump out of a window.

Two of the most famous, with a HUGE fanbase, are Rush and Ann. I will leave you with some quotes from both. Then you will understand why Rush saying "Halfrican", which, as someone else also pointed out, he didn't even invent, barely phases me.

(Didn't Stephen Hawking recently move the Doomsday Clock another couple of minutes forward?):

Rush Limbaugh:

There's not a homophobic bone in my body!

First of all, you're presumptuous to assume "pole smoking prick" is a slur against gays. Perhaps I was talking about Rush' penchant for chewing on fat cigars.

Secondly, I have no problem using that type of reference when referring to Rush Limbaugh. He deserves all the derision and scorn that sane people can heap upon him.

IMHO, the fact that Rush spends every fiber of his being, every ounce of talent, and every drop of his media power to sew hatred of gays and lesbians - and does all he can to deny them basic rights and decency - while at the same time visiting the male prostitute capital of the world with enough Viagra to raise the Titanic - well, I think his actions entitle me to call him a "pole smoking prick", because he is one.

My good friend Brian (who describes himself as being as "queer as a $3 bill") would never, and could never be a pole smoking prick. That Evangelical guy, Haggard or whatever his name is, is a pole smoking prick because he used his influence to deny rights and basic decency to my friend Brian.

There is not enough scorn in the world for the pig-man. Calling him a pole smoking prick is being kind.
