"I'm afraid if I dig any deeper, people aren't going to like what I find."
I think this is what many in our media has been saying to themselves since 2001. They are afraid to look for the truth. They are afraid to even expose the truth, thinking that facts can be manipulated digitally, leaving them open to scorn and loss of livlihood, and possibly their lives. Of course, many of the "beauty queens" (including men) in the media simply don't know any better. They see themselves as entertainers. They have forgotten that those in government are here to serve us, the People, not to help themselves to our wallets and bank accounts while pretending to protect us. They don't realize that those peole swear an oath to uphold the Constitution.

And many of the people who swore the oath have forgotten also.

And the Subject Line is from Clear and Present Danger.

1. MIHOP?
Considering that it matches their patterns, it very easily could be true. It's a hard pill to swallow, if so, but is better than the alternative pill, isn't it.

3. They saw what happened to Rather.
Unless you have everything lined up, video, signed statements, satellite tracking, and so on, it can be denied.

The story about our fearless leader's military career was never proven wrong. The documents weren't found to be genuine, but that didn't change the fact that everything reported can't be refuted. No records exist that show Bush actually fulfilled his duties.

5. You're Right! Rather was the Canary in the Coal Mine
It's just like what was done to Valerie Plame Wilson.

"You don't play our way, this is what happens. Lucca Brazzi sleeps with the fishes."

7. She did nothing to earn what happened to her.
The Bush administration decided to bring family into the mix.

They should have discredited Joe Wilson (if they could have, of course). Outing his wife to get back at him was beyond politics.

excuse. Google A.Q. Khan.

Because who would ever question the revenge motive. It's in their ice cold blood.

4. It's Easy to Throw Stones
Remember that dialog in the brilliant Roman Polanski movie, Chinatown?

"What did you do as a policeman, in Chinatown, Mr. Gittes?"
"As little as possible."

Complicity is a little strong. Stupid, useless and just plain lousy journalism probably cover it.
