This war is going to cost us $3 trillion dollars, and this nation is more concerned about Batman.
For that amount of money we could solve our domestic energy problems and end our reliance on a finite and unstable energy source.

:grr:

1. Nothing wrong with Batman!
But yeah, that is more important.

2. What was that about Batman?
Sweeeet....

;) People are looking for a distraction from a problem that they cannot solve; it's common practice.

5. That's just a sophomoric comparison
people look to entertainment to distract them from the painful realities. Nothing new about it, and nothing wrong about it either. Oh, and you forgot to chastise Senator Leahy for appearing in Batman.

11. I'm glad they do (myself included, which is why i spend time in the lounge) .
To see the MSM spending endless hours on batman and the emmy's seems absurd compared to the issues this nation is facing.

This is "General Discussion" and not the DU Lounge.

9. So batman and our looming energy shortage is more important?
If I wanted a silly post, I would have gone over to the DU lounge.

:wtf:

15. MSM will keep us up to date on 'Batman' receipts. How about the same for the war?
Guarantee: Every local newscast will inform us as to the take ...

... on first run movies.

ummm ... I forgot what I was going to say.
