Does no one in the MSM see pardon as freeing Cheney as well as Libby?
There seems to be a growing "warm and fuzzy" feeling about letting old Scooter go -- but he's Fitz's road to Cheney, and a pardon is a roadblock. Let him earn his ticket out of jail. Give Fitz Cheney!

Is this aspect of the pardon issue of no interest to the MSM? Are they so obtuse they're not seeing it? Or has there been discussion outside the blogosphere, and I've missed it on cable TV or the print press?

If this meme continues from the press, we'll see Bush applauded for pardoning Libby.

6. Freeing Cheney from the justice he deserves, and Fitz is ready to deliver...
if Libby weren't blocking the way with his lies.

9. I don't think Fitz can right now, but Conyers is going to give it a try!

2. Mom, I just saw this thread. Congress might think getting to the bottom
of this is critical (we can hope). I know it's very frustrating hearing all this spin; Libby is a convicted felon-spin that!

3. The Media In This Country SUCKS!!!
There is no "mainstream" media. Show me where it is please.

Liberal media bias. WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT!

I watch less and less television with each passing day, and the more these morons continue with their right wing attitudes, the less I'll continue to watch.

4. Bush lets his media surrogates pave the way...
...while he maintains distance. A pardon would save Bush's ass, too. And, in that regard, who better to model his decision on than his very own Poppy?

5. I do not think he should get a pardon.
North used his as if he did not do the things he did. No one said he did not do these things but he does. Pardon say we are letting you go even if you did it not that you did not do the crime. Or that is how I understand it.

8. That is a REALLY important point. A lot of people would think pardon means...
not guilty. It does not. It means exactly what you say.

10. My understanding is that a pardon is like an annulment.
The crime never happened.

12. North used it that way but I think you are wrong on this.
It is just to forgive you the crime but you still did it. I look at it as the same as when I bump into you and I say pardon me please. No one said I did not do it but I am asking if you will forgive for doing it. Thank God that does not cost hundreds to die or get hurt. When you are drunk and slam into a bus and kill people you do not get a pardon. If you had a heart attack and slammed into a bus and killed people you most likely would. Both times you have done the deed. What you do, how it is treated and why counts in life.

13. You're assuming a connection that may not be there.
If they had any way of nailing Cheney, they would have charged Libby with more than lying to investigators. That's the problem with these special prosecutor witch hunts (this is the same crap they did to Clinton and Cisneros; no chargeable crime, so they nail you for covering up politically embarrassing, but not illegal, activity).

Scooter could completely spill the beans on Cheney being behind the entire Plame outing effort, and I doubt they'd be able to find a law to charge him under. Bush modified the security classification rules to give Cheney the same ability to classify/declassify info that the president has, so it's going to be awfully hard to prosecute him for leaking classified info.

I'm pretty sure Scooter's conviction is it; the whole thing's going to fizzle out now. Rove had sense enough to lawyer up instead of lying to the FBI.
