The Rich and the Powerful take their cues from Jim Morrison, and we all lose.
"...But I tell you this, man, I tell you this I don't know what's gonna happen, man, but I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames." Jim Morrison, from "An American Prayer"

Nobody can dispute this. We are now the Romanov Dynasty in decline.

Who fucking said this was the 1000 Year America? NOTHING has lasted 1000 years but the pyramids and the occasional cathedral. Pelosi, Reid, DEAN and BRAZILLE are all minor nobles in the new House of Romanov, and "...I tell you this..." LENIN is in the wings.

Anarchy as Lenin: YEAH, I dig it. It's the new happening, cities in flame, the new "Summer of Love." 2009 will be SO FINE, but only if you have stock in a fire extinguisher company. BURN baby BURN a NEW disco inferno will burn the motherfucker down.

HISTORY is coming to collect on the A.R.M. supporting the nation, like the Grim Reaper riding in at noon for a gunfight. We NEEDED a gunfighter, and instead we got Grandpa, William Jennings Bryan, and Susan B. Anthony. Too damned little, too damned late. Where is today's Harry Truman?

Juggernaut; the light at the end of the tunnel, and yes, it's an oncoming train. History ties us all to the railroad tracks, all the Mounties are smoking crack outside of Dunkin Donuts, and the coffee is HOT.

Sick, sick, sick joke. The rich forget that even THEY can't escape. We are all on the train, throttle tied down and Casey Jones jumped off at the last station not being stupid enough to ride the train over the cliff with the rest of us. Cognac in the smoking car, anyone?

Rant rant rant.

3. EVERYONE is punished.
ALL are to blame.

We conveniently forget, that if we pay our taxes, then we buy the bombs. We knew that in 1970, and everyone's forgotten it.

7. Plenty of blame to go around, kid
because the apathetic slackers, GenX ers and Gen Y who prided themselves on alienation and never voting contributed heavily to the mess we're in.

Don't forget, also, that the first cohort of boomers, those responsible for the 60s, were sandwiched between the Reagan loving "greatest generation" and the Reagan loving materialistic second cohort of boomers.

In other words, stop blaming your parents and everyone else their age. They didn't make this mess single handedly.

9. The TITANIC had people traveling in all classes as I recall.
When the shit hits the iceberg, we all sink. Just some of us are aware of it BEFORE we notice our feet are cold and wet.

12. What I meant was ...
The Doors and Jim Morrison were a product of the late 60s and early 70s, when Baby Boomers were supposedly "rebelling" against the establishment.

Today, I see these former anti-establishment Boomers working harder to bulk up their investment portfolios rather than getting involved in the issues that will sink the Spaceship Earth. IMHO, they are the very reason we're in the pickle we're in.

Yep, my generation (GenX) certainly could do more to help the sinking ship stay afloat or at least get to helping bail more, but for the most part, we're too busy trying working 2 or 3 jobs to pay for the PS3, LCD TV, iPhony, etc.

13. Hey, no blaming here.
When the ship sinks, anyone not on a raft is going to drown.

Or freeze.

My family and I are on the highest deck, lashing chairs together, hoping we finish before we get wet.
