2. I really think they are dragging this out until after the election on purpose-
Bush will immediately pardon him- no matter what happens so if they wait until after he's out of office, there's more of a chance to not only arrest him, but make him stand trial as well. Just a thought.

5. Why would the police waste their time?
They know that it would be a complete waste of time. Either the Democrats would throw their hands in the air and say "Why would the police arrest him? We just wanted to talk? This is completely unprofessional and irresponsible police action!" or Bush would pardon him immediately.

Rove is part of the privileged class that the law and civic responsibility can't touch.
