Sun, tanning lamps suspected in rise in melanoma

- Nicole Foy, 20, of Levittown, says the cancer risk "hasn't really" stopped her from tanning every two weeks for the past four years. She spends about $50 a month on tanning.

"Though I know it's one of the deadliest cancers, with skin cancer, I feel as though I can get it fixed because it's on top of the skin. It's easier to detect."

2. Getting it "fixed" for my friends with skin cancer meant cutting it out. I don't think the young
lady realizes it.

6. Skin cancer killed a cousin of mine
she was a natural red head with the typical dead white skin--yet she desired to have a tan. Well, she found the cancer too late and died in a lot of pain, leaving behind a young son. Very sad. But you can bet your booties I don't go to tanning booths and I try to stay out of the sun.

3. I think I work with her, except she's closer to 40. Dumb as a brick.
Really, really homely, and dresses as though she's hot. Had a conversation with her a couple of times, and she is so stupid and uninformed it's ridiculous.

Nice permanent tan, though.

5. This tanning craze always has amazed me
maybe because I know Caucasians who go to get tanned, their lips enhanced with silicon, and get their straight hair curled and yet are prejudiced against folks with African heritage and put down their looks.
