I am so proud of my mom.
Edited on Sun Jul-13-08 03:42 PM by ccharles000
We live in front of a hotel and my mom saw some guy beating on a woman. She started screaming at him to stop and called the police. They got in the car and when the cops came they were gone. My dad beat my mom up years ago and she gets very upset when she sees someone in the same situation.

1. I'm proud of your mom too.
Sounds like she decided some time ago that she's not putting up with abuse any more--for anybody. Give her an exra hug for me.

3. The woman got into a car with the guy who was beating her?
Some people just never learn.

Good for your mother.

You live in front of a hotel? How is that?

Just wondering.

Yes she did get in the car unfortunately. There is a hotel right in front of us and we hate it.

5. That's a drag.
There aren't too many hotels that I would want to live close to.

Maybe you could write some songs or something about the goings-on that you witness.

6. Mental abuse is awful
when you combine that with physical abuse it adds layers of self defeat that most don't understand unless they have been there. The fact that there was a hotel across the street is the most minimal factor in this situation and what would it matter? Abuse happens through all levels of life. I can only hope that both of them love themselves eventually to see what they are doing is hurting and breaking what they could be and that both will feel that they can live better lives outside of the hurt. Abuse is never good. Ever.

It took years for my mom to leave my dad. Sometimes it really is hard for people to leave.

7. Good for your Mom!
You should be proud of her. So many people today would walk on by, afraid to "get involved". That kind of attitude enables the abusers, who are usually cowards and bullies anyway.

:toast:
To your Mom.
