4. Quick calculation

Suppose a mole of gas is equal to a cubic ft.
Then each cubic ft of methane is lighter than a cubic ft of air by 13 grams.
Suppose a cow weighs 1 megagram.
Then approx 77,000 cubic ft of methane will offset the weight of the cow.
That corresponds to a spherical balloon of about a 19ft. radius.
So there's your answer. If you hook up a cow's stomach to a hot air balloon, eventually it will lift off.
I can't wait for the guys at MythBusters to try this one.
