I'm pressed for time right now so I can't go look for the relevant legislation but it might be http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=hc110-362">House Resolution 362. Whether that's it or not, Congress has already opened the door and I welcome anyone who is inclined to provide the source for me.

9. Don't understand the question. There are already 35 good reasons to impeach
Edited on Sun Jul-13-08 01:13 PM by rhett o rick
and Congress won't. Congress has already passed Kyle-Lieberman which Bush thinks is authorization to go to war. Most likely Israel will get into it with Iran first and we won't even have a choice but to defend them. Congress has made not one single move to stop him from war with Iran.

Besides, impeachment is never immediate. You think the general public would want Congress holding lengthy impeachment hearing if we are in WW III.

Every thing is in place for a war with Iran, marshal law and Congress placed in an advisory roll.

Have a nice day.

considered an "overeach." That's why they are waiting....because they know he's going to do something.

We need to Impeach some members of Congress for enabling him to go that far. Cold day in hell before that happens.

15. ABSOLUTELY....An attack on Iran would mean the destruction of the American economy
and that is one of its lesser concerns.

I think of war with Iran as the ending of America's present role in the world. Iraq may have been a preview of that, but it's still redeemable if we get out fast. In a war with Iran, we'll get dragged down for 20 or 30 years. The world will condemn us. We will lose our position in the world.

73. nothing compared to what strangling the Gulf would do
Credible analyst agree that an attack would push oil prices to the $300 to $400 level. The very real likelihood of the destruction of much of the oil infrastructure and transport infrastructure in the Gulf region would have consequences beyond anything we have seen.

People will find it hard to believe that once oil was at only $146 per barrel.

63. I would take issue with the word "electorate."
The word implies that it's possible for the American people to "elect" the people they want to represent them, but that ceased to be possible beginning in 2002, perhaps earlier.

When the vote is counted in total secrecy by private companies using proprietary software which is off-limits even to the elections officials and which is trivially easy to manipulate without the slightest possibility of detection, I'd say the electorate doesn't exist any more. All that exists is the ruling class, those with enough money and influence to get the insiders to massage the results. I don't believe a majority of the American people have ever been for the Iraq War or torture or limitless spying. A majority never voted for Bush. It is already true to a great extent and is becoming truer by the day that the people are better informed than the people who are supposed to be informing them.

Talked to our Democratic congressman's staff in DC. He said, under the War Powers act, the President has a certain time frame from which to act, if the US is attacked. / I reminded him, 'attacks' can be faked or provoked. All you have to do is read, Bugliosi's new Book, The prosecution of GW Bush for Murder." Bush once talked of getting Saddam to shoot down a UN plane, by placing false UN logos on the plane ,and provoking Saddam to start Bush's war.
