Ted Kennedy screaming on the Senate floor
debate is on the TSA amendment for the right to form a union.

Again he asks, what is it about working men and women that the other side of the aisle hates.

3. Senator Kennedy is a great man
A very brave man.

The mere fact that he dares to utter the word "union" in 'Merka, let alone in Congress where the corporate puppets reside, is a testament to his bravery.

He really does stand up for the people, against the regime, in spite of what the regime put him and his family through...

18. I like to think of it as stentorian voice when he raises his voice
It's screaming when he is red faced and swinging around display boards. He couldn't even let the displays rest on the stand, he was holding them and pointing and ... red faced screaming. I have no problem calling it what it was because it was necessary and it was a thing of beauty. You can see he is getting more and more pissed and, like Byrd, I often hold my breath that he doesn't fall over, medically, when he gets like this. We need his outrage more now than ever.

BTW, he looks like he has lost some weight today. He looked good and he sounded even better.

I LOVE my Senators, both of them.

He's a great guy but I doubt that the collective public memory is never going to forget Chappaquiddick (sp??) so he's somewhat restricted as a result.

26. video:Kennedy Rails Into Conservatives
Kennedy Rails Into Conservatives Trying To Block 9/11 Bill To Hurt Workers

The White House has threated to veto a critical 9/11 Commission security bill if it includes legislation giving federal airport screeners collective bargaining rights and whistle-blower protections.

Senate conservatives have argued that providing basic workers’ rights to TSA employees endangers our national security. “It’s absolutely absurd,” said Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC). “Terrorists don’t go on strike. Terrorists don’t call their union to negotiate before they attack.”

Today on the Senate floor, Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) ripped into the right wing for suggesting that our first-line defenders would sacrifice America’s security. “What is it about the other side that questions that these are men and women of dignity that will do their job when this nation is threatened?” he said. “As the smoke was coming out of the buildings in New York, when we saw the collapse of the first buildings and men and women under collective bargaining agreements were asked to go into those fiery infernos, no one was talking about collective bargaining agreements! They were talking about doing their duty to the United States of America.”

http://thinkprogress.org/2007/03/07/kennedy-911-workers/

The good news: the Senate held the line and voted 51-48 to approve the workers’ protections.
