Nevada ACLU supports an individual’s right to bear arms
By David McGrath Schwartz, lasvegassun.com

CARSON CITY — Everyone loves guns in Nevada. Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, Republicans, the American Civil Liberties Union, the ...

Wait. The ACLU?

The Nevada ACLU has declared its support for an individual’s right to bear arms, apparently making it the first state affiliate in the nation to buck the national organization’s position on the Second Amendment.

“The Nevada ACLU respects the individual’s right to bear arms subject to constitutionally permissible regulations,” a statement on the organization’s Web site said. “The ACLU of Nevada will defend this right as it defends other constitutional rights.”

The New York City-based ACLU disagrees with the Supreme Court ruling, saying in a statement that it interprets the Second Amendment as a collective right to own guns and not an individual one.

2. A major victory for the direction of the ACLU
While I do support some gun regulations, I think the right to bear arms is fundamental to a free society. If the government gets too repressive, a heavily armed populace will at least scare them away from doing anything really nasty. But we have to make sure that not all the gun owners in America are loyalists to whatever despotic regime might arise.

Arm the queers! Arm the women! Arm the defenders of human rights! Hopefully we'll never have to openly use them, the sheer fact that rednecks and bigots don't have a monopoly on gun ownership will make some of them think twice about bullying other people around.

4. The thin end of the wedge.
They will all come around eventually, including the "official" Democratic Party, Obama and most ot the name anti's.
They will realize where the votes are, and their views will change.

Next year, you will be amazed at how many were pro RKBA all along.
