I think Conyers is getting ready to impeach. Mark your calendars.
Just finished watching the video of his most recent meeting with vets for peace. He scheduled another meeting with them for July 25 at noon, at which time he said he will give them his decision regarding going forward with impeachment.

I got the very strong impression that he's going to do it. Highly recommend watching the videos -- long but really worth the time.

Thanks to Seemslikeadream for posting these on DU.

1. My calender is so black from everything I've marked lately...
I can't even read the numbers. Will this be before or after the destruction of the Constitution and the collapse of the banking structure, and how does that relate to the impending invasion of Iran, timewise?

Oh, to heck with it. I'll just let it happen and act surprised. :)

7. No. Conyers is a fucking wimp.
If he is this goddam slow to make up his mind, he is an idiot and a loser. Thanks for stringing us all along, Conyers. Get a sack, dipshit! Get out of the way or fucking lead you fucking weakling. What, you didn't read Kucinich's articles? You are disgusting. Even Ron Paul is more anti-Bush than Conyers. Sad fucking state of affairs.

26. Hey! Wait and think before you bash Chairman Conyers.
He's done more than anyone else has, except for my candidate, Dennis Kucinich, and with stiff opposition, and John Conyers is also a member of DU... Yes, it's "a sad fucking state of affairs," I agree, but these two brave congressmen are the ones who are trying to do something.

33. Did you watch the videos in the OP?
If you did, I can not possibly see how you could hold out hope that he will do one damn thing. For over two hours all he did was open his mouth and let bullshit fall out.

If you have not watched the videos, I would ask you to spare some of your time to listen to the man that you say, "has done more than anyone else has..."

All he did for the two+ hours was to say he hadn't made a decision yet.

This is coming from someone that held so much hope that John Conyers was going to do something, that I printed, framed and hung on my wall an email from him.

That framed email has been taken off of my wall.

36. I am so sorry and I did watch the videos. I'm disappointed with Chairman Conyers, too,
but I've watched the man for a long time and I know that he's between a rock and a hard place. He was forced to hold his media inquiry in some basement room because they wouldn't give him official space. I watched that. too. He is one brave man, marched on the White House to deliver our petition, and I still have faith in him, is all, both John Conyers and Dennis Kucinich are putting their careers on the line, for us. And they deserve our support, whether they succeed, or not. These men are my heros, and his letter deserves a space on your wall. I only wish that I'd been honored with one, but Bill Clinton's letter hangs on mine, the only president I ever saw in person, who I voted for and "won". ;(

37. That petition he delivered
was three years and twenty two days ago.

How in the hell is he putting his career on the line, when all he had to say for two hours was, "I haven't made a decision"?

Nope, his letter will not go back on my wall. It's just a shitty piece of paper. Just like congress has made our Constitution.

38. "I haven't made a decision..."
Translated into our native tongue, he's saying...

I'm still trying to decide whether to form an exploratory committee to kick-start the process of beginning to consider the possibility that at some point in the unforeseeable future it might be an idea to look into the positives and negatives that a thorough investigation might uncover regarding an effort to take into account the feasibility of forming a task force to determine if there's any remote chance that impeachable offenses have been committed by the president of vice and his slack-jawed marionette and that said task force be granted subpoena power just in case they're not completely ignored again and if they are there's already a working draft of a strongly worded statement sitting near the bottom of the same pile of paper where H Res. 333 / H Res. 799 has been gathering dust for months now just waiting for the light of truth to point the way to a new blue ribbon fact-finding panel charged with helping the task force and the exploratory committee determine if it's politically advantageous to launch hearings that might eventually result in some form of sanctions, including but not limited to IMPEACHMENT.

Same shit, same bullshitter.

41. I guess that time flies, but I admired John Conyers for delivering that petition.
If you remember, he had to deliver it through bars at the gates of The White House. And he really is a member of DU, and I replied to him, same as everybody else, LOL. This is a good man who is just trying to do his best, certainly better than most members of Congress who have not supported our efforts, lately, except for Dennis Kucinich. I really don't think he is lacking in courage, obviously, but it must be discouraging. I sure have been ;(

And I love your sig. Mine is of my two rescue dogs, but Andy was also a friend of mine, and I really do miss him, God_bush_n_cheney, when I first knew him. He was my first friend on DU, along with newyawker99, who I miss, as well. We're on the same side, my friend.;(

8. I had very high hopes after reading "Constitution in Crisis" and was betrayed.
He helped impeach Nixon. Hasn't Bush long since surpassed that threshold?

I'm willing to hope but waiting and seeing has been most vexing. I'll fully support him if he begins and follows through on impeachment.

With four months to go before the election, there'll be icicles hanging off homes in Hades before they actually get that process going.

Me? I'll take four federal marshals at whatever airport Rove tries to slip home through.

You have the right to remain silent.

16. Let the new Congress impeach him
Remember, Congress gets sworn in about two weeks before the President. The new majority can easily pass the articles and run out the clock until Jan. 20th. That would prevent bush from issuing any pardons and enable full scale criminal prosecutions.

19. Good idea, nab these fugitives before they flee to Paraguay.
We are in this constitutional crisis because justice was not served to Nixon and Bush 41.

The precedent was set on Nixon when he was pardoned before any conviction. The country did not get a public trial for his crimes.

Bush Sr then got to pardon Weinberger before he was tried, and so blocked testimony that would have implicated himself in the Iran-Contra crimes.

Then Clinton had the opportunity to investigate the criminal cabal and get the truth out for justice to decide, but dropped the ball for whatever reasons.

And the result is these crooks are back and shredding the constitution. And now they need to be prosecuted and made an example of if nation is to recover from these assaults.

KKKRove leaving the country while Mukassey testified is one big-ass hint. Rep. DK's single article of impeachment is another.
