6. And those who currently receive Social Security benefits

paid for the benefits of their grandparents and parents. How horrible! To think that the young have to pay the debts and the benefits of the old. --- The irony is that the Bush administration has done nothing but spend the future earnings of the young people of today. How do those under 40 think that the Iraq War is being financed? With their future earnings. Social Security should be the least of their concerns. At least they will indirectly benefit from the Social Security benefits their parents receive -- in that they will not have provide as much financial support to their elderly parents. Social Security enables older people -- the parents of the young people who pay in -- to live independently rather than with their children.
