and so isolated from the rest of us that of course they say we don't know what's going on inside the beltway. However, they really have no clue what's happening in the rest of the country, either, even if they visit from time to time.
The inside the beltway crowd of analysts and experts have managed to isolate, alienate, and render themselves utterly irrelevant. Sadly, they're still courted by corporate media who also don't want to recognize that the country is in trouble now and that they helped create it.
As for the bulk of people being clueless as to the official functions of various people within the government, that's true. Civics classes are universally boring, deplored, and quickly forgotten. It's only political junkies like those of us on DU who have an idea what this country is supposed to be and how far from that path it's strayed, led by the fascists in power and abetted by a corrupt media.
