I just heard some CNN bobblehead say the DOW is down due to lower oil prices
I swear I heard this same lady say last week the DOW was down due to increasing oil prices.

Something is funny here.

1. And here all this time I was thinking it was due to BushCo criminality and ineptitude.

I'll have to think about that one.

For about a half a second.

2. Earlier today it was up 100 pts,
and they said THAT was due to falling oil prices.

Investors are quite literally insane with fear and disbelief right now, IMO. That's why we're seeing such huge fluctuations lately.

3. Nothing new...
I have had enough with all the news channels. Where do they find these people sometimes? I wish I could get paid to say stupid shit or just state the obvious.

4. Uh, they're all BOBBLEHEADS
The truth is that they don't know why the Dow goes up or down because the big players who make it go up or down aren't telling them why.

Anybody who buys into the notion that the Dow is controlled by small investors is a fool.

6. Energy securities have been way up
as the Dow has been cratering. If oil prices drop, energy stock drop, removing one of the Markets few remaining props.

9. I Don't Understand What's Funny About It
Recently the market has been driven largely by oil prices. Any day with a rise in oil is likely to result in a negative day for the Dow. This has happened multiple times and will probably continue, at least until people start to be less panicky about the direction of oil.

15. Here's Another Gem I Caught...
They were going over the latest poll numbers that showed that 75% of American think we're in recession...and how that's "better" than last month when that number was at 79%. The bobblehead even went on to say how this was going to "help" Gramps as things as now only 3 in 4 think the economy is in the tank rather than 4 in 5.

16. Any time a reporter puts "because of" between any DOW changre and any other event
they are just making meaningless noises.

If anybody really understood exactly what made the market go up and down don't you think they'd be living on their own private island in the South Pacific instead of working in a TV newsroom?

But of course they can't tell the truth. They can't say "The market went up today and we don't have a fucking clue why." They would expose themselves as the fools they are.

18. I didn't think it was amusing.
Mind you, up til now CNN would say people aren't spending enough, and MSNBC would say we're spending too much...

Now it's the same anchor being breastfed told to say the exact opposite of what they said just a few days earlier.
