1. Wish I could see it
you can't get NBC in this town without cable. Even with an HD TV and digital tuner it won't come in. I hope someone posts it on YouTube.

14. I've tried four different ones so far
I've been told that unless I mount a large rooftop antenna on my home I'm outta luck. I live downtown and there's a lot of interference. But thanks for the link!

7. SNL was known for doing random things like that. It was
part of their shtick. (sp)

If you watch some of the Monty Python shows from the same era, they did stuff like that in England, too.

The thing I noticed most tonight was the Weekend Update segment on the new Gerald Ford button: "If he's so dumb, how'd he become President!" It was almost surreal! The fact that Ford is miles smarter that *, coupled with the fact that it is exactly something that the Repukes would come up with today!

I'd like to see them with original commercials too.

6. Hulu.com is a great source for classic TV
Edited on Sun Jun-29-08 12:25 AM by JohnnyRingo
Unfortunately, SNL is only available as excerpts, but there are hundreds of old TV shows streamed.

http://www.hulu.com/

Click on the "browse TV" tab to find full length epeisodes of you classic favorites, including all seasons of "WKRP In Cincinnati", "Arrested Development", and recent episodes of the newer shows like "The Simpsons" and "The Daily Show".

There are short 15 second commercials, but it's still amazing how long the older shows were.

8. I saw this when it debuted--I was 10 years old
I can't believe how awful this show was, in retrospect. I know SNL was trying to find its identity--after all, it was a new show--but some of that stuff was beyond lame. And the musical guests...yuck! Now I see why disco took off during the mid-1970's! :puke:

George Carlin, of course, was brilliant as always. You just can't say enough good things about him. He's truly a comic legend.

9. Lots Of Carlin On Now On HBO Comedy
If you're able to get the channel...looks like they're running non-stop Carlin specials all weekend.

Also, an internet station I'm affiliated with will be airing, uncut, 3 hours of the best of Carlin tomorrown night. It's been bittersweet putting this thing together...constantly laughing but with the thought that a great mind is no longer with us.

12. I'm surprised NBC still has the tapes
Companies were/are so good at bulk-erasing stuff to use them again, or simply trashing them so they don't have to pay to store the stuff.

Broadcasting classic SNL episodes would be a lot more interesting than reruns from last season (which sucked hard the first time around) or the "Best of" crap that has been shown hundreds of times already.
