FoxNoise is beginning to feel the heat.
The self-proclaimed "most powerful name in cable news" is watching helplessly as ratings growth for CNN and MSNBC far outstrips the paltry gains made at Fox. Somewhere, deep down, I never lost hope that the American people couldn't really be that fucking stupid.

2. Very good news. Faux can never grow; that's its problem.
It is trapped in its self-created right-wing cocoon, and it gets great ratings from the 20 percent of Americans who still love George W. Bush. But that's it, and most people have moved on.

That's why you see sex sex sex on Faux so much now. It's the New York Post. Murdoch has nothing else to add.

28. The article in which he reports this bit of information has some
very funny bits. Here is the last part:
Given these facts, it's not hard to see why O'Reilly is losing viewers. They're not dying to watch him, they're dying while watching him. His audience is so old Barbara Bush was jailbait when they were growing up. His audience is so old they remember how hot Betty Rubble was in high school. His audience is so old they don't remember when Iraq was like the Garden of Eden, they remember when Iraq was the Garden of Eden.

Let's get real, O'Reilly's audience has fallen and they can't get up.
I love it! Here is another cute paragraph from the piece:
So, it turns out this big, bad, powerful O'Reilly is basically doing a show at a senior citizen's center. Are O'Reilly's viewers going to determine where this country is heading? We can't even tell where they're heading because they won't turn off their left blinker.

4. Fox is a one trick pony
and even the most brain dead of people get tired of seeing the same trick over and over again. That is particularly true when they finally figure out the trick. Kind of hard to keep tuning in to hear how wonderful things are going when all you have to do is look around you and see that it just isn't so.

I watched about 5 minutes of the business news on Fox this morning and to listen to them talk the stock market isn't really all that bad and if anything, it's a super time to buy!!! Yay! Take your spare gas money America and go by some stocks.

8. Channel surfing yesterday
They did a "topless with pasties" servers at a drive-through coffee booth that had to put bikini tops on due to a local ordinance. What I noticed was Fox going out of it's way to get the most salacious camera angles and shots to rev up their 20 percenters. Twisted stuff for supposedly a News program.

would sit and drool into their beer through another evening of O'Lier and Henutty.

Fact is they bought into it all for more than 8 years.

They watched and drooled on themselves as Bill Clinton was impeached.

They watched and drooled as missiles, rockets and gunfire destroyed homes and lives.

They enabled OUR country to be trashed by theiv'in lyin republican corporatist scum.

And ONLY when gas is over $4 a gallon, AFTER everything they own has been devalued %10 (at least), AFTER property taxes (if they are lucky enough to still have a house) have doubled, AFTER health care costs have become give aways to the insurance industry do they realize that there is a disconnect between the crap they are being fed and real life and the economy.

They ARE that stoopid.

13. I don't know if this is true, but
a long time ago, here at DU, someone posted that Fox News was a part of the Dish's basic plan, and that was where a lot of their viewers came from.

Rather a captive audience, if you can't afford a bigger selection.

25. I have Dish basic & we get the local FOX station, but not FOX news.
No MSNBC either. We get CNN & CNNs Headline News & CSPAN.

If we got Fox, I'd have to learn how to block a station. ;)

20. So true -- all that was needed was an alternative from the lock-step cheerleading.
I'm guessing that a sizeable portion of Faux's ratings are attributable to critics who are taking note of Faux's disinformation & downright lies.

They are all republican-owned and spew corporate/republican-friendly propaganda.

Fox is over the top Pravda. The others attempt to maintain credibility by allowing limited, but minimal, balanced programming (e.g. Olberman).

31. Everyone who has Dish network should block Faux News.
Also, make sure to DVR Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann.

All the corporate media sucks, with Faux being the GOP Propaganda Network.

Hopefully, Faux's ratings will continue to tank.
