Get off this website
and start calling your Congressmen and Senators...now! Give these people some guts. Quit talking among yourselves, slapping eachother on the back, and get on the phone or email. Call for more than lip service...another special prosecutor or the same SP to pursue this. Otherwise, my bet is that the moment will pass! The republicans are hoping and expecting that we will all be so involved with our collective orgasm that we'll take our eyes off the ball. Unless everybody pushes our own reps, this Libby thing will hit the back pages in a week. Bet on it!

2. Mine:
Mr. Davis, I know I am constantly writing to you but let me just write now to remind you that many of your constituents and some of my personal friends as well, work with and for the Agency. These hard working patriots risk their lives every day to identify terrorists and defend our nation with their dilligent efforts to uncover terrorist cells across this world.

We cannot let an administration stand where the breach of a CIA agent happened so close to the top of power in the White House. This is a treasonist offense. We must impeach Cheney and then Bush.

Sincerely,

The Libby Trial is in (Guilty) and given there is a pale of suspicion over the WH, when are we seeing another special prosecutor appointed, or for that matter FORMAL impeachment hearings?

The Libby case was the tip of an iceberg of corruption, abuse of power, et al. It is time... the US House starts FORMAL impeachment hearings. This is why we elected you to do, in many ways... bring accountability to a white House that is working in ways that make Watergate look like boy scouts. And we both know what the grocery lists of charges were there against President Nixon... some of them apply to our current leaders... starting with the dismissal of what is it now? Eight Federal Prosecutors?

Sincerely,

XXXXXXX

And to the senate

Senator Boxer

I know that the House has to start the formal impeachment proceedings, yet I also know that in 1973, when it was clear serious crimes were committed, the Senate formed the Special Impeachment Committee.

Today's verdict in the Scooter Libby Trial reminds us just how much we need such a committee right now. I realize the political stakes, but as a nation we are in the midst of a constitutional crisis... and it is time that our elected representatives, whether they are in the House or the Senate, realize that we the American people are quickly loosing patience with BOTH parties and what seems to be a business as usual attitude

And this incoming from somebody who does watch the SPAN and knows just how many hearings have held so far. Imagine what people who only watch the nightly "news" think... (I should call them what they are, the nightly big brother, minute of hate events)

There is much to do in this country, but bringing accountability to the Executive and making sure future executives know there are consequences for actions such as these, is critical... if the Republic is to survive.

Then again, we might as well have crossed the Rubicon in 2000 and we are just spinning our wheels... what is it? the people wait, but patience is running low.

5. Mine...with a link..
I thought I would email and let you know how concerned I am with this Libby verdict. It is rare to be given the perception of someone in this government being held accountable, but it has happened enough to warrant my concern. Mr. Libby's conviction in no way resolves the outing of a CIA agent, or the lies manufactured to make a case for war. I am not knowledgeable about our judicial system, or lack thereof, but would hope that those who toil at the art of legislating would find a way to use the vast array of tools available them to prosecute and hold accountable those responsible. It amazes me how thorough and accurate the justice system is when prosecuting drug offenses, but when millions of lives are at stake no remedy is available. Thank you for all you do..

10. Just an fyi...
not all congresscritters accept email from congress.org.

Go directly to the Congress' website, and better yet, call and send snail mail also.

13. what website are you referring to?
My representatives do accept my emails from the above link, but I was only trying to be helpful to others. If others would like to write, or phone, the information for how to contact their representatives is there for that as well. If you know of something better perhaps you could provide a link?

19. That's great.
If your reps allow that email - Great!

Some reps sent an email a long time ago that they were blocking bulk emails from sites like congress.org.

It doesn't apply to every rep. Just an fyi - - - some reps block that site and you don't get an email stating so.

17. Good point since they respond to constituents
and even better, tie into your concerns that you feel this endangers America and emboldens terrorists, who can see how Americans have turned on each other for selfishness and greed.
