While we get mad at Bush for not mentioning New Orleans at SOTU, FRC chides him for another reason
The Family Research Council was not overly-impressed with the President’s latest State of the Union address, complaining that President Bush "failed to challenge the new majority to advance core family and cultural issues":

"The President failed to challenge the new majority to advance core family and cultural issues, issues that many in the new majority campaigned on last year. These same issues will motivate pro-family Americans to rally around an administration that needs support.

With two years left in the Bush Presidency, the stakes for families couldn't be higher. What will become of the culture of life, the defense of marriage, and permanent family-friendly tax policies?"

1. Any group that brings up "family and cultural issues"
really means "we hate gays".

2. Yup. Among other things.
'we hate gays and anyone who isn't like us.'
'women should be kept in their place with as little control as possible over their lives and bodies.'
'sex is for making babies, only. we need your babies as cannon fodder for our wars so get to it.'
'do what we say and we'll protect your family. don't and we'll get revenge through your family.'
'don't ask questions. be good pawns.'

4. I've often wondered -
to these fundies, what exactly is a "core family issue"? As the "man of the house", you have the right to beat your wife and kids? No one must ever, ever, divorce, regardless of abuse? You must believe in Armageddon?

Well, come the Rapture, I want their cars!

5. Hey, I thought the fundies got what they wanted during the last 6 years.
No? Oh, I remember. That White House office of faith based initiatives was just a con to fool the fundies into thinking Junior and his cronies were going to do something for them. Smell the roses, fundies. Wake up, they've just been using you as the stupid fools many of you are.

6. "What will become of our culture of life...?"

You killed it in Iraq with the 3,063 (so far) soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis.

Asshat.

7. Yeah, what's up with that anyway?
Screaming about a "culture of life" yet cheering on this war, it's stupid.
