As some of you know, we have come to Chicago while our little 2 year old granddaughter was to undergo neurological testing. Well, she had a 23 hr EEG and we got the report today. They found an area of abnormal activity on the left side of her brain and she is now scheduled for a MRI in a couple of weeks. We know that it could be a number of problems, but epilepsy has been ruled out in spite of the fact she was referred for testing because she had begun experiencing seizures a few weeks ago.

She is so little and such a happy little soul. We could live with seizures, if that were the problem. We are trying to stay positive and hope that our worst fears are not the case.

5. Oh, our little lady is very verbal.

She's really bright and very talkative with quite a good imagination. She also recognizes most of the letters of the alphabet and can point them out. She can count to 15--most of the time.

Even I had one done faster than that. ( All systems functioning properly BTW, rumors to the contrary notwithstanding) Seems like an excruciating ordeal to put the family thru... but perhaps there's a reason for it.

She's such a sweet and smart baby.



I made it back home today. Since I last posted, she had a blood screen that was normal and an eye exam too. The eye exam may have provided some explanation for the difference in her pupil sizes since she apparently has a lazy eye on the left. I'll go back to Chicago to help out with care of the other children while she is in for the MRI. Keep pulling for her. We're hoping for some sort of weird benighn structural problem or something else benign and capable of being outgrown to account for her seizures and not a tumor.
