On Monday nights' NBC Nightly News, corespondent Richard Engle told anchor Brian Williams (both in Baghdad) that the reason insurgents appear to be laying low is because they are "waiting to see if political pressure in the U.S. {read: Democrats opposing the surge} will HELP THEM WIN."

Uh, excuse me, but when exactly did Engle interview all these insurgents to see how closely they were monitoring news out of the U.S. and regarded a change in strategy as "a win"???

1. It has nothing to do with the Democrats. The insurgents meld back into the populace

when there's a large government/USA presence in their area. At about the same time, the insurgents in ANOTHER area where there are less troops start acting up.

the corporate media bash the Dems so much on Iraq. They aren't going to cut funding, therefore the war is not going to end. At this point the war is likely to be transferred to whoever wins in 08.
