Ed Schultz calls for cutting war funding, criticizes inaction on war, and his time slot in LA
gets moved from mid-day to after drive time when few people are listening.

Randi Rhodes got his slot, but in between they put Mr. KABC, a local host who was close to apolitical in past iterations.

The Ed Schultz demotion looks more suspicious because the added the steaming piece of crap Alan Colmes to their line up at midnight, rather than have real progressive like hard-charging Mike Malloy.

I have a feeling what will ultimately happen is talk radio will devolve to what TV talk has become--right wing on the one hand versus apolitical stereotyped as lefty.

1. It just might have been because of his
unapologetic rant that went on forever at Air America. He went too far that day and I, for one, haven't listened to him since.

3. Not to mention his love for Lieberman,
and his debating RW talking points like they are actually true. And don't even get me started on the love fest between him and the guy who started the Al Gore energy thing...

8. Al Franken had that same problem, doing the excruciating stuff like blaming the Iraqis, "why aren't
they taking to democracy?" and all of that. Ed has actually gotten better on this stuff over time. His show is evolving.

By the time he's done, he'll be on Pacifica.

5. I'm not the biggest Shultz fan, but
if someone as generally centrist as Shultz is now talking about impeachment being necessary, he's still on the side of the angels. Thankfully Mike Molloy is back on here in Minneapolis.

6. KTLK, since it's adoption of the "progressive radio" format, has always...
...touted it's mix of syndicated and local shows. I think they have a desire to serve local needs along with the national hosts. The weekends are local during the days. This new guy, "mr. K" or whatever, did not impress me. But he comes after three hours of Stephanie, three hours of Thom Hartmann and three hours of Randi (now LIVE in LA!). That's nine hours of solidly progressive radio five days a week. I feel pretty lucky to have that.

After all of that, I need some music so I can process the info.

7. Randi and Thom are great. KABC used to have some good local coverage with Michael Jackson
the South African not the bleached guy.

But they purged anyone who wasn't an obvious righty over the years from the heavy listening hours.
