1. Didn't Roy die in '89?
Or was this his 1998 tour with Jim Hendrix, Jim Croce, and Janis Joplin? (I kid the deceased uber-rocker!)

7. Dish network has the episode year wrong.
Once I started watching it I knew it couldn't be right.

You've been so freaking solid on your Florida Primary postings that I'm not going to take you to task for Dish's error. Though I might be just a little snarky about it... :hi:

Here in Wisconsin they are showing the American Experience about FDR
followed by a repeat of the 2 hour program.

10. A skilled orator, FDR nevertheless had a crummy singing voice
And history has greatly overstated his guitar skills.

13. You never heard his falsetto
Roy Orbison learned it from FDR. :bounce:

A Black and White Night. It's a great show. Hard to believe Roy's been gone for 20 years, isn't it?

3. Would it make me seem too weepy...
If I confessed to getting choked up the first time I saw the video for the Wilburys' End of the Line? Their handling of his verse, including the train's entry into a tunnel (and thus darkness) was one of the classier things ever shown on MTV. Even classier than Tila Tequila, if you can believe that.

11. No, I can't believe that anything
is classier than Tila Tequila. Listen, as a child of the sixties, I find myself getting weepy every time the local PBS fundraiser shows the doo-wop groups from back then. I can't watch them any more.

4. It could have been a good show but it's useless.
It's useless because the cuts between shots are really fast, and there are fast zooms also. You can't fix your eyes on anyone long enough to study their guitar playing. There's barely enough time to recognize the person you are looking at. Whoever edited this should be keelhauled. :grr:

Who is the guy on stage to the left of Orbison in the long white jacket?
