5. Some people have to.
Cars that have engines with high compression ratios often have to use 93 octane to prevent pinging in their engines. Some cars receive no benefit from it, others suffer poor performance or even the risk of damaging their engines without it.

So which is harder to find, extract, refine and distribute gasoline? Or produce and distribute organic milk?

11. My husband's mustang requires it.. we cheat on occassion, usually..
when its going to be run right back out... Lately he mixes it.. but the bigger fill up is with the higher octane.. I'm after him to sell it.. but its almost all paid for, so I wouldn't have a payment to make on it.. I think we may just keep it for a bit..

12. i have 2 vehicles...a mercedes s320 that runs on high octane and a honda civic hybrid
we have mothballed the mercedes....it runs on the highest of octane and minimun of mileage per gallon

the hypbrid averages around 45 mpg
