Free Speech TV isn't carried by Comcast around here. But they do carry one of those foreign stations called Bridges TV.

Bridges carries Democracy Now!, but it's a day late. The video quality is far from digital (looks like videotape), but it's on Channel 687 on my Comcast set-up.

1. Direct has it on LinkTV
Dish has it on FSTV.

LinkTV, IMO, is far superior. I've seen both and much prefer Link's programming.

2. My local Comcast also doesn't carry Link TV.
Bridges TV is my only cable source.

Just in case I haven't stated it recently, Comcast sucks.

5. Link TV only exists on satellites
There was a ruling that forced satellite companies to provide public interest stuff. So you get 40 religious stations and Link TV.

9. I never had cable or satellite
but I came into some money 2 years ago and dragged myself, kicking and clawing, into the 1980s and got Direct TV.

I know Comcast sucks. Direct has been great, though, cutting out only for a few seconds at a time in torrential downpours, something we don't have much of in the desert.

3. If you've got net access, all of Democracy Now!'s shows are online
They stream them with real media.

Things are certainly changing. I used to only be able to see it on Link TV, but now BOTH of my PBS stations play Amy.

6. I've got Comcast, and I can get Democracy Now from one of my local PBS channels.
KBDI Channel 12 in Denver, FYI.

8. Go to Dish TV if that is possible, but if not
and your city requires them to carry a local Public Access channel (most do) you might find that some local citizen has used their slot to rebroadcast later the same day (many do).

Dish carries Link TV, FSTV, Gore's Current TV and the Canadian Documentary Channel.
