No Joke - Bushie wants to write a Book on the True Story of the Iraq War
President George W. Bush in an interview on Friday
told Gianni Riotta of Rai TV, Italy, that he will write
a book on the Iraq War to defend his decision on
the invasion and occupation of Iraq, because he
wants the true story of what really happened to be documented for history.>>>>>>>snip

Q In the few seconds that are left, what will you do next?

THE PRESIDENT:

You know, good question. I haven't had much time to think about it,
because I've got a lot to do. But I will probably write a book,
talking about the decisions I had to make, precisely to make
sure that history understands the conditions and the environment
during which I had to make decisions.
Start a freedom institute at what's called Southern Methodist University in Dallas,
to talk about the universal values of freedom abroad and at home.
And other than that, I'm open for suggestions.

(how about you write that book in prison?)

14. Ain't he though?
I suppose it's the poor breeding, but also, he just did/does too much alcohol and blow. He's rotted the small brain he started with. It's like fucking swiss cheese in there.

Let's rec this one so it gets to the greatest page. This has been a long, hard primary season. We need a little amusement. I know he's a terribly easy target, but I'm tired of his shit and his snits and his asinine habit of continuing to breathe when he barely has enough brain left to do it. Let's take this to the big page and tear the Silverspoon Sociopath a new one, shall we?

15. I noticed that was one of Doug Feith's talking points in his new book
In an interview he went on about how none of us "know the real story" but that now the facts will come out.

It's not the corruption I mind so much -- it's the incompentence. A competent, corrupt administration would have simply lied like Hell and said "yep-- here are the warehouses full of WMD's"

19. Wow, maybe he'll let
Scooter or Mrs. Cheney ghost write it for him. I can't imagine that he can write anything by himself. But let's see... It might start like this:

Once upon a time I imagined how cool it would be to fill my Pretzeldensity with lots of pictures of me in different military costumes. I hate wearing those navy blue suits, even when I wear my Texas guy boots. So I talked to Dickie bird one day after he came back from hunting. He gave me this great idea. He said, Why not start a war? If you pick some place like Iraq you will make all of our friends really happy, George. You'll make us rich, cause they got lots of oil.
Yeah, Dickie. Oil. What do I do? Do you think we can do a really fast war? I need to be able to get down to the ranch to keep the brush cut back.
Of course, Georgie. It won't take long at all. We'll be in and out and you can wear some of those military outfits you like and all of us will get loads of money.
So, I said, Do it!
And that's how it all started.

Not because it's steller, it's garden variety stupid pet tricks from monkey boy, but we've been beating up on each other so much lately - let's turn that ire toward a more deserving target, our Pet Goat, as it were. Would that we could put him out to pasture before inauguration day, but barring that, let's pile on him for a while. None are more deserving (well, except for Cheney and the whole PNAC crowd).

54. Hilarious stuff!
I completely recommend this book if you like being underwhelmed, or if you want to be whipped into a catatonic stupor. If you must read it, get it from the library so you won't feel like you did when you bought the Ding King from the TV commercial. (As for the writing style, I'm not sure our president can push a subject against a predicate, at gunpoint.) If this was written by a ghostwriter, he or she should be taken out and shot.

.....

As a huge George W. Bush fan, I was anxiously looking forward to reading his book. I couldn't have been more disappointed.

.....
As a journalist and small business owner, I've met and spoken to our ex-governor four or five times. I can't remember for certain how many, as he made almost no impression on me - any attempt to talk about something more substantial than how hot it was proved fruitless. The same holds true for this book, which was obviously written for him.

.....

I have to admit, though being neither Democrat nor Republican, I found that Molly Ivins' "Shrub" covered the same ground in a much, much more enjoyable way.

.....
Reading this book while experiencing the first two weeks of the Bush team's onslaught brings to mind a scene from the Tim Robbins film "Mars Attacks!," in which the invading Martians lay waste to Las Vegas and all within it while carrying sound equipment that proclaims loudly in English "We will not harm you! We are your friends!"
