Handy reframes:
"he's elitist" = He's smarter than you and you resent it
"he has no experience" = He doesn't get himself into hopeless situations
"he is not tough on terrorists" = He thinks before he acts
"he will raise your taxes" = he understands the basic laws of economics

4. Reframing
My understanding is rebutting a frame only makes it stronger. So creating a new frame would be the best bet.

He will raise taxes = he will raise enough money to invest in infrastructure to keep America independent of foreign oil and to avoid going another trillion in debt to China.

He is not tough on terrorists = He is competent to know that the terrorists are in Afghanistan & Pakistan and he is competent to know that being dependent on Saudi Arabia is not an anti-terror strategy. He is competent to know Iran is the only country that has emerged from the Iraq war stronger and more influential.

he has no experience = He will not follow the failed policies of George Bush, Cheney or McCain.

7. I thought so at the time.
This was a kind of throwaway post, so I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it.
